Heather | 8548 comments This is a thought that came to me a bit late, but July really is the month celebrating the independence of the United States of America. Well, that's just the USA and since we do have members from around the world, please share with us! Does your country have a specific holiday dedicated to one certain event or celebrating a special occasion? We'd like to hear it and learn more about your part of the world! Go!

Ruth My husband's country has Sytennde Mai, which translates as the Seventeenth of May. It's Norway's Constitution day, which marks the beginning of Norway's gaining her independence from Sweden in 1905. Celebrated with flags and parades. Norwegians hang out the flag for the slightest excuse, but on Sytennde Mai, they go all out.

Lars In the Netherlands we celebrate Koningsdag, which translates as Kingsday. We celebrate our king (Willem-Alexander) his birthday. Everybody wears orange and there are big parties in all cities and villages
