Space Opera Fans discussion

So, has anyone else seen this documentary about Alejandro Jodorowsky's attempt to adapt Dune in the early 70's? Fascinating stuff. Jodorowsky was definitely cracked, and I'm not sure if I would have liked his adaptation, but . . . wow.

You really should see it.

It's brilliant in the way madmen often are. The things he put his son through... incredible. But also the fact that ripples were felt throughout sci-fi movies for a generation afterward is amazing.

Highly recommended.

For all of that, his son did seem to turn out OK. But yeah, that was something.

It is impressive to see how a movie that was never made had such an influence on movies that followed it.
