Cynthia Armistead Newman (technomom) | 159 comments I haven't managed to find the full name of the author for J.M. Coetzee. There is a book by that name by another author, as well as other books that contain that name in their titles, but nothing associated with any "Barnard." Any clues?

Thanks!
Cyn

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments I think it's probably Robert Barnard. I can see a summary of an article that appears in the Chronicle of Higher Ed (I don't have a subscription so can't read the entire article) that refers to a series of essays Robert Barnard wrote about one of Coetzee's controversial novel.

I do have a subscription to the Chronicle, so if it's needed, I can access the article.

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments Ah, that's what you get when you can only see the summary.

Cynthia Armistead Newman (technomom) | 159 comments Ack - the only credit I started with was "Barnard," so I put into Robert. Should I leave it that way or ?

Why are we discounting Ging's suggestion?

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments Just looked at Ging's links and it looks like Rita reviewed a book about Coetzee written by Dominic Head. It is titled J.M. Coetzee

Didn't mean to appear to discount her suggestion - my suggestion was posted before I saw hers - and I didn't look back up in the thread.

Ah. Makes sense.

So it's still a mystery then.
