Hi Tanja :)
The characters in Gable aren't specifically based on people in my real life, but they're more than likely a conglomeration of them because I'm surrounded by some pretty snarky people & I love that about them. There's a lot of sarcasm in Gable, so that pretty much reflects my day to day ;)
Gable was a lot of fun to write! As for the characters, I loved writing him in particular, especially when he was being sweet :) My characters always become so real to me & I got a kick out of the way they developed in this book. Scout was fun because she could be a real smart arse ;)
What was probably the most difficult to write was when Gable, the character, was being a jerk. It made me feel bad for Scout because, like I said, my characters are so real to me & I hated that she got hurt.
Thanks so much for the question! <3

Hi Nicole!
Kresley Cole (her Immortals after Dark series is my favorite), Kristen Ashley (her alpha men are HOT), JR Ward (Black Dagger Brotherhood books 1-4 are SO GOOD) & Sherrilyn Kenyon (love her Dark Hunter series) are just a few of the many authors I love :)
Thanks for the question! <3

Hi Loyda!
Nope. I didn't always want to be a writer LOL But I did think about it a lot and now I'm glad I went forward with it because I love it!
Yes, I do have another career right now. I teach high school English, and in my free time, I write, so I stay very busy :)
Thank you for your question! <3

Hi Jabberwocky :)
I love this question!
I think the most important characteristic in a male hero is integrity (which covers all kinds of good stuff like loyalty, honesty & honor). I want my H to be someone I'D want to fall in love with, so, yeah, integrity is what I'd say!
<3

Great question, Brittany :)
First of all, music means a LOT to me. I love love love my music! I'm into all kinds but mostly rock. So that all being said, yes, music does play an important role in my writing, but sadly not during; therefore, I have no playlists for my books. And believe me, this makes me so upset lol
Here's the problem: when I listen to my music, I have to sing. When I write while listening to music and start singing, I end up typing the lyrics and it all goes downhill from there ha! If I could change it, I would because I think it's so cool that authors have playlists with their books, but alas, I don't, and now you know why ;)

Why is that?"
Hi warhawke :)
The book I'm writing now, Thursdays (The Wait, Book 1), has to be the most difficult by far. It deals with cancer and drugs and has already made me cry a few times.
You can check it out here: Thursdays
Thanks for the awesome question! <3

Hey Victoria :) Thanks for the question!
My favorite part about writing is getting to see the stories that bounce around in my head suddenly in print. It's a very surreal event that's sometimes pretty emotional! My stories are my babies and once I publish them, it feels like I'm a momma bird pushing them out of the nest lol That's pretty cheesy but it's also pretty accurate!
My favorite part of being an author is getting to share my stories with others. And when readers like them, even better! I'm so grateful that I have an amazing fanbase who continues reading what I put out for them. That's so humbling and crazy and amazing and it makes me love them all the more <3

Hi Harper!
Thank you so much for answering my question. I am so happy you decided to write and enjoy doing it. About your teaching (hope is not too personal) but do you come across wild or inappropriate students? I feel like teaching is a gift and I admire you for that, really that is awesome.
Oh another question sorry I noticed you are currently working on another project

Thank you so much again for your time. :)

Oh another question sorry I noticed you are currently working on another project Thursdays (The Wait, Book 1) by Harper Bentley; I am extremely intrigued about the blurb sounds fantastic. Would you be having a blog tour or possibility ARCs for review? Would absolutely love the opportunity to check it out.
Thank you so much again for your time. :) "
Hi Loyda :)
Oh, yes, I've come across a lot of crazy students in 25 years of teaching. But the funny thing is, those are the students I usually end up liking the most because they're interesting lol Now, I've had some real troublemakers and they didn't fare as well, but I have a great administration who usually takes care of these bad eggs ;)
I'll have a blog tour with Thursdays (The Wait, Book 1) with Southern Belle Promotions on Facebook and you can sign up with them to receive an ARC. I'm not sure what the publication date will be yet, so you'll have to keep an eye out for it! :D
Thanks so much for the questions! ♥♥♥

Hi Warhawke :D
I plan on having The Wait series be a trilogy. The next book is tentatively titled Mondays & the third is Sundays. And, no, sorry, they won't be standalones since they'll be continuing the story of Birdie & Beck. And I have to warn you, the first two will probably end in slight cliffhangers since the story will be continuing in the following books! ;)

How distracted do you get while you're writing?
Why do I ask? Because today, I'm in the middle of an intense and spicy scene... and up pops Penelope Ward online for a release day thank you video, and... Boom. #Dickstracted. Friends send me pics of Nick Bateman... #Dickstracted. My parents' neighbour's son goes for a jog, and conveniently stops to stretch in front of the house? OMFG, you guessed it... #DICKSTRACTED!!! The worst today, and... the best #Dickstraction? My guy jumping on the bed, in a towel with chocolate. MF CHOCOLATE AND A HOT AF NAKED MAN!!! I mean... seriously? How is a girl supposed to freaking work here?!?
So, please tell me, Harper. Do you live in a panic room or a hyperbaric chamber, to avoid such #Dickstractions? I'm not gonna make it here... *frustrated sigh* Lol
My actual question is, how do you deal with distractions when you're trying to write. Any distractions. Doesn't matter what they are. Hit me with some suggestions here, or some distractions may find themselves locked out of the house. #JokingNotJoking
I've totally enjoyed reading your books. Cannot wait for more. :) <3

If you will have a chance to collaborate with one author to write a story, who will it be and why?

Hi Irma! Oh, boy, I'm gonna sound bad here, but I totally prefer ebooks now. Of course, I have a bajillion hardbacks & paperbacks (many of which I've donated to my school library) but my Kindle is amazing & can hold a gazillion books LOL So, although I love traditional paper/hardback books, I think I love my ebooks a little bit more ;)
Thanks for the question! <3

LMAO Heather! You're too funny, chick! I'm still giggling here :P You made my day so thanks for that! <3
Well...here's the deal...when you feel it, you feel it, right? So you go for it!
But, oh, I WISH I had some of the dickstractions you've got *snorts* Mostly mine are my kids calling or coming in & out of the house (my son has his own place, so it's not him too much, but my daughter's been home from college for the summer & she's a busy girl but it's still not too bad lol). If it's not the kids, it's my dogs wanting in or out, or the cat wanting some attention, but I still don't have it as "bad" as you do when it comes to being distracted ;) Oh! Another thing is friends texting/calling but all I have to do is tell them I'm writing & they're good with that & then I get right back to it ;)
So, really, all I have to do is turn the TV off & stay offline & I'm usually good to go lol
Good luck to you...and maybe you should get some blinders & earplugs to keep your distractions at bay lmao

Hi Beatrice! :)
Oh, gosh, there are so many! lol I'd love to collab with Kristen Ashley or Kresley Cole! That'd be a dream come true! But there are many others too who I'd be head over heels to work with! And I'd be in heaven if I got to work with Helen Fielding on a new Bridget Jones book lol THAT would be fun!
Thanks for the great question! <3
