message 51: by Michael (new)

Michael (micky74007) Up at 7am: walk the dog, get the boy up for school--once he is out the door I brew some tea and sit on the patio and read until it gets too warm. Then I might get around to doing some chores, or not.

message 52: by Skylar (new)

Skylar Nightingale | 5 comments I get my children ready for school. After they leave, I exercise, read or edit my writing or someone else's, and then clean. If there is time remaining, I try to learn something new like playing the piano.

message 53: by [deleted user] (last edited May 17, 2015 03:04PM) (new)

I wake up and go back to sleep, unless it is a school day. If it is a school day or softball day i wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, and then drink coffee.

message 56: by BeeXWitch (new)

BeeXWitch I check my fb, read a chapter or ten of a fanfic and eventually listen to my music.

message 57: by Michael (new)

Michael (micky74007) Thought I could sleep in when I retired, but the dog gets up at 0730 and needs to go out: he tries to hold on, but he is so used to my old schedule that it is just easier to get up and start the day. After that, I brew some tea and sit on the patio and read.

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

Well I'm an early riser so usually get up around 4ish...crazy I no...I even crazier in winter!! But hey wat can u do when can't sleep?! So my morning routine as I said starts bout 4 am get up have shower then plod around...get a large cup of coffee and sit down and read the morning away until 7 and then get ready to leave for work...guess pretty boring...but works well for me...and it fits in plenty of reading time ;)

message 59: by Rahul (new)

Rahul Rajendran | 64 comments My day starts by 7 mostly. Mild exercise, tea definitely after brushing, and some melody songs to warm me up. Watching sunrise is a rare thing in my life; which is why I enjoy it deeply, if at all I wake up early accidentally. . :D

message 61: by Solistari (new)

Solistari I have 2 kinds of mornings.
If I'm working, I have the kind of morning where I roll out of bed, into the shower, grumpily do my hair and make up...then leave for work.

If I'm not working. I'll bounce out of bed, make myself a cup of coffee with lactofree milk and spend the morning catching up on youtube videos and reading if I get the chance.

message 62: by Susan (new)

Susan Monday | 4 comments I get up at o'dark-thirty and drink coffee. Then on a good day, I'll walk around the block (2 1/2 miles, breakfast is next then writing time. Consistency is my friend. Susan Monday, susanmonday.com

message 63: by Larissa (new)

Larissa Hinton (larissahinton) | 3 comments What do I do in the morning? Hmm, I know as a writer the correct answer is to write. But I do alot more than write. :)

Read the bible, pray over the day
Read KBoards for inspriation to write
Write for about an hour or two (depending if it's summer time or not)
Feed my wonderful cat, Lexi and give her some attention and love
Water my garden and collect the harvest (again, if it's summer)
Get breakfast and get dressed and start my day

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Compared to me, everyone sounds so motivated in the mornings lol

7. Make coffee.
8. Leave for work.

And this morning's stray from the normal routine, dropping off my car for exhaust work that will cost me a bit of cash.....=[

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

It depends on the day. If it's during the week and I will be working form home that day I usually get up put on tea kettle and turn on the morning news. IF I Have to go into the office obviously I have to get reading but I also put the tea kettle on so that the water boils while I get ready. During the weekends if I don't have any plans or have any major chores to get done I get up make breakfast and then hopefully snuggle in for some quality reading time (this happens maybe one or twice a month - crazy life).

message 92: by Angela (new)

Angela DeSilva (goodreadscomangela-desilva) | 20 comments Get coffee, play with cat, read in bed.

message 93: by Brenda (new)

Brenda Schoolcraft | 16 comments My morning ritual. I wake at ten. While enjoying a cup of coffee, I check my social media outlets, for the latest updates or messages from fellow readers or writers. Then I open whatever piece of writing I'm working on, and get some thoughts down. A little writing every day keeps the mind sharp, and the muse engaged. If you don't wake the muse with the morning coffee, he could sleep in, and get lazy. Write, write, and write some more, until you can write yourself into history. Having said that, after my writing my spirit starts demanding that I get out of my house, and work the body out in some form or another. Fill the writer's think tank. Its about that time right now for me, got to put on my running shoes and get out on the road. I call it road work. Jogging, or walking, deep breathing to cleanse the body, and clear the mind. Have a wonderful writer, reader kind of day. xoxo

message 94: by Tina (new)

message 99: by Crystal (new)

Crystal I get up, grab a bottle of water, take meds with breakfast then read my Expositor's Word for Every Day. In the warm weather, I often take my bible and go out on the deck to read. not up early enough to see a sunrise but I make the most out of the mornings

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) So many here sound so motivated compared to me!

As an example -
This morning I had the alarm go off, groaned, put it on snooze for 10 more min, got up and felt miserable because I'm not a morning person, hurried up and threw on clothes, took my bunny off the porch and put back inside, gave my cat a can of food, put on my keurig coffee while heating milk and creamer in microwave, ate a banana while running around, threw fruit and cheezits in lunchbag, put together coffee and got ice in a cup for a cold drink, ran out door.
