The Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series, by Charlaine Harris is really good. Also the Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher. Hmmmmm, what else can I suggest based on your list....lemme think.

I just finished reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman and really liked it.
Also like The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen it is the first book in a trilogy.

Have you read the BLOOD OF EDEN series by Julie Kagawa?



It's an awesome series, YA urban fantasy, paranormal/vampire, but with a bit of a sci-fi spin (just enough to make it feel plausible). Oh ... and did I mention swords?

I'm just concluding a series of posts highlighting books for Halloween. It's an eclectic mix including paranormal/ urban fantasy, horror, dark fiction, classics, humour and others. You might find something of interest there.

The Iron Druid Chronicles. Outstanding series!

If you like Charley Davidson and how...funny she is? The Immortals after Dark series by Kresley Cole. The first book, the super strong heroine doesn't discover she is super strong until 80 percent of the way through. But once you meet Nix and the others? You'll realize it's worth it. Same with Shelly Laurenston and her shifter series. Both series start off heavy on the insta-lust but soon the authors are just having a good time telling their stories. And if you're looking for something that just feels different? Anne Bishop's The Others series. I thoroughly enjoy all and preorder the next book in the series as soon as it's posted. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
