Catching up on Classics (and lots more!) discussion

Here is the buddy read thread for The Beach by Alex Garland.

I started this thread because I didn't see one in the buddy reads folder. Hopefully it's not a duplicate!

I started this today. I love it so far. It's fun, vivid and fast paced. I think Garland does a great job of capturing the Generation X / mid-90s feel. The musical and pop-culture references are spot on.

I can't remember who all was planning on reading this, but I know it wasn't my idea. It's pretty late in the month, so I hope I'm not all alone for this one. :)

I'm not sure I will get to this in August, I have bookmarks in the first quarter of three 500+ page books and was planning to read Underworld this month which I still haven't started, but it is up next once I've cleared it some room. Maybe, next month.

I definitely won't be getting to it in August after all, but am hoping to get to it next month! I have the book, it's ready and waiting, but I've got stuff going on, an upcoming trip, so it's got to wait. :)

You mentioned deleting this thread, but leave it up, we'll add to it when we get to it. :)

Ok, I'll leave it. This was a fun read. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did when you have time to get to it.
