I really like Barristan. He is honorable and tries to be the best knight and do what is right. I hope he does something heroic! I hope he doesn't die.

I like him too. But he seems so sad and depressed.

I want to give him a giant hug.

I share you opinions on Barristan. He's lived through a lot, he deserves a few peaceful years. I'm afraid he won't have them any time soon, though.

I'm not sure I understand all these references to 'the poisoner'. Who poisoned who? I don't recall...

The sugared locusts (I think they were locusts) that Belwas ate (and Hizdahr offered to Daenerys, but suspiciously never ate from) were poisoned by the confectioner who made them. I think Belwas died. The question is who ordered the locusts to be poisoned or was it the confectioner's own decision (which I sincerely doubt)?

Where is she? What is she doing?

Is he kidding me? Daenerys next chapter is the last chapter of the book. Oh I just know GRRM is going to pull something at the end and leave me hanging for another year. No no no not again!

My two big takeaways from this chapter were 1) Belwas was poisoned (I think the chapter says he is still alive but very sick) and it appears the king had something to do with it (although according to the confectioner's confession it was ordered by the Sons of the Harpy) and 2) the Shavepate says the marriage is a sham and Volantis is on its way to attack the city (the marriage created a truce with Yunkai but not Volantis so technically no one lied although certainly it's all a big deception). Either way, no one knows where the Dragon took Dany but it seems like it's time for her to get out of Dodge.
