Nicole (softwhitelightbulbs) Hi, my name is Nicole, and I am not new to goodreads, but new to groups and participating in them. I can pick up and read just about anything, but I really enjoy the genres of fantasy, mystery, thrillers, horror, young adult, and occasionally some historical fiction. I have read since I was very young, and it has always been a comforting thing; to read. Anyways, thanks for reading my post! I hope to navigate around some more and become an active member!

Welcome to the group Nicole! We are happy to have you here!

Laura O | 11 comments Hi, I am just joining, thanks for having me! I enjoy fiction, historical fiction, mystery/thriller, memoir, biography. Because of long hours behind the wheel of my car for work, I usually find myself listening to audio books. My boyfriend teases me when I say, 'I am listening to my book.' He says, 'this is impossible, it is like watching the radio, LOL!'....I usually get through a book in 1-2 days because of all of the driving I do! I am looking forward to hearing about more of your selections.

Hi Laura, welcome! I have a pretty long commute too, and listen to audio books here and there. It's a nice break and makes the drive seem so much faster.

Nicole (softwhitelightbulbs) I have been considering audio books, and learned about audible not too long ago. My commute is about 30 to 40 minutes, so that might draw out a book for a long time. That and not being able to imagine the voices in my head kind of makes the experience different.

Robert Davis (robert_davis) | 2977 comments Hello Nicole... I have begun listening to audiobooks at night in bed. They really do add enjoyment to the experience. Actually, I like to check them out from my local public library, when they are available, both the audio edition and the print book.

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) What the heck does :3 mean? A sexual connotation? I'm incensed. Not-of-age children visit this family-oriented website, thank you very much. Let's exercise some restraint!

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) p.s. if you want audio material to listen to in your car--*without* adding in any way to the decline of print books in our culture--then why not download ***free*** radio entertainment from the Internet Archive? The history of audio entertainment in this country is contained therein. Every genre. Our cultural heritage.

VickiLee My name is VickiLee and I have just joined this site because of all the interesting conversational topics. It seemed that, as I looked around, there were fun topics in every corner and I find that appealing. Great group.

Joanne Zienty | 31 comments Hi -- I'm Joanne. I am a library media specialist for an elementary school, so I read a lot of children's books for my work -- but I love digging into a wide range of genres in adult fiction and then discussing them. I am always on the look out for an engaging read and lively book chats!
