I'm a teacher by day and an aspiring writier by ... um, well when I have time. Between teaching, homeschooling my daughter, and spending time with the family, I haven't been able to devote as much time as I like. But, it's coming along.
Some audiobooks I love:

I'm always looking for suggestions of good books to listen to!

Thanks

My name is Lilly, it's nice to meet you all! I've started listening to audiobooks this month actually :) I love them and it's great to have a group like this to discuss about what we like or dislike!

Thanks Jonetta. I'm waiting for the producers of Hoarders: audio book edition to come knocking.

I started listening audiobooks about a year and half ago after I had a head injury and wasn't able to read. In the past year and half I have listened to over 300 books, most of which were new adult romance and I am totally addicted.
My favourite authors are: Robyn York, Samantha Young (On Dublin Street Series), Kylie Scott (Stage Dive Series), most books by KA Tucker, Jamie McGuire, Vi Keeland, Penny Reid, and Alice Clayton. I tend to gravitate to books with smart sassy heroines.
My favourite female narrators include:
Cris Dukeheart
Lynde Houck
Elizabeth Louise
Callie Dalton
Kathleen Early
Kate Delane
My all time favourite narrations are, Paula Costello's multi accented performance of On Dublin Street and Andi Arndt's LOL narration of Play.
My favourite male narrators include:
Sebastian York
Jason Carpenter
Graham Halstead
I am looking forward to getting some audiobook recommendations on this group, the rating system on audible and goodreads seems to have 4+ stars for most books, which makes it difficult to narrow choices down.

I started listening to audiobooks about 2 years ago and I'm hooked. I now actually look forward to gardening and housework, it's awesome!
I listen to all types of books, but my favorites are romantic suspense/mysteries, fantasy, contemporary romance and chick-lit/women's fictions.
Here are some of my favorites -

I'm excited to be a part of this group and look forward to seeing recommendations.
Welcome to the group, Kathy! Love the titles you've listed as favorites. Yeah, audiobooks have transformed my relationship to housekeeping too:)

Welcome Micker! I've so many of your series on audio and can't wait to start Stage Dive. Love Sebastian York and will need to check out Carpenter and Halstead.

I listened to my first audiobook as an adult (as opposed to those kids ones where you turn the pages when it makes the chiming sound) in 2004 or 2005. These days, I "read" almost exclusively through audiobooks. Looks like of the 33 books I've read this year, only ONE was an actually book-book!
Anyway, one of my requirements for books is that they have some sort of romantic element. It can be preteens holding hands or whatever, but there's gotta be SOMETHING. Other than that, I'll listen to any genre.
My favorites are..........
*In Death series by Nora Roberts, narrated by the goddess Susan Ericksen
*Anything by Julie James, all narrated by Karen White
*Anything by Julia Quinn... various narrators, but Rosalyn Landor stands out, of course.
*YA - The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, narrated by Rebecca Soler. (SO GOOD)
*Anything read by someone with an Irish, Scottish, or Australian accent. (Or British...)
I think those are my big ones! :)
Good to see you here, Sara! I didn't realize you'd transitioned to almost exclusively audiobooks.

I'm looking forward to hearing recommendations here.

Welcome! I, too, love historical romances, and Landor and Wells are favorites. I also adore Elizabeth Hoyt's series narrated by Ashford McNab. There are sooo many!

Some of my most memorable/enjoyable series I've listened to and HIGHLY recommend if you haven't tried:
Fallen Angels, Black Dagger Brotherhood & Legacy Series (JR Ward)
Dark Hunterverse and The League series (Sherrilyn Kenyon)
Fever and Highlander series (Karen Marie Moning)
Hidden Legacy and Innkeeper Chronicles series (Ilona Andrews)
Dark Kings, Dark Sword and Dark Warriors series (Donna Grant)
Immortals After Dark and The Arcana Chronicles series (Kresley Cole)
Demonica, Lords of Deliverance and MoonBound Clan Vampires series (Larissa Ione)
Lux, Covenant, The Dark Elements, A Wicked Saga and Titan series (Jennifer L. Armentrout)
The Mortal Instruments, The Dark Artifices and The Infernal Devices series (Cassandra Clare)
Psy-Changeling and Guild Hunter series (Nalini Singh)
Sin Brothers and Blood Brothers series (Rebecca Zanetti)...I wish more of her series on audio were obtainable by libraries but seem to be restricted to Audible listening only.
Seven and Mageri series (Dannika Dark)
Lords of the Underworld and Alien Huntress series (Gena Showalter)
My favorite historical romance series authors:
Monica McCarty
Donna Grant
Maya Banks
Pamela Clare
Julie Garwood
I'd love suggestions.

Anyway, I've noticed some mentions of the price hike at audible and am feeling the pinch too. Do any of you guys know about a service called "Playster"? I saw an ad on Facebook and it looks interesting, but their website isn't overly informative.
Hello and thank you :-)

I love gothics, romantic suspense, and sweet sappies by authors such as Victoria Holt, Mary Stewart, Phyllis A. Whitney, Susan Howatch, Betty Neels, and Barbara Cartland.
Hoopla, the online library service is wonderful for getting audiobooks for free. You can even listen offline with their app.
Welcome, Cherie! I envy your ability to listen in bed:) I end up waking without any idea of what I'm listening to.
Cut my mystery/romance teeth on Victoria Holt!

Welcome Cherie. I like listening in bed but if the story gets good, I feel the urge to get up. Lol.

Welcome, Traci! We've a diverse membership with lots of interests in a variety of genres so you're bound to get some great recommendations. I, too, am a York fan and recently listened to my first Christina Lauren book.
Enjoy the group!

Welcome. I tend to listen to alot of romance as well.

Some of my favorite romance narrators are Andi Arndt, Sebastian York, Zacchary Webber, and lately I have been loving Shane East! That deep British accent is just too yummy!
