Welcome, KC. Listening in a car helps the commute for me. Glad you can listen as you drive.

Book (1000books) | 10 comments The best thing about narrated books is you hear every single word. When I read I have the bad habit of skimming along. I can zip through a book in 2-3 hours. Narration takes many hours just like the author hoped.

Squinn12 | 2 comments Hello everyone! I am a brand new audiobook addict! I haven't looked at my Kobo or tv for a couple of weeks......Some are hit & miss, what does everyone recommend? Not into PNR but willing to take a chance, lol

Mara Pemberton (marapem) I’m Mara! I am a total AUDIOBOOK Addict. It’s rare that I read a book, real or Ebook in quite a while. My favorite genre is British mysteries. But I do try to mix my genres so that I don’t get bored.

Debby *BabyDee* | 566 comments Hi, Debby here and I am an audiobookaholic..although I like the read of ebooks..have done away with hardcopy, I prefer listening with awesome narrators to boot. Romance genre my favorite but will step out of comfort zone on occasion.

Loni Beverly (lonib) | 7 comments Hi my name is Loni and I am an audiobookaholic.... but I don’t need a 12 step program 😊. I have listened to over 40 books this year, but I am completely new to the interactive side of the goodreads community. Reading reviews and following people is an awesome way to expose myself to new books! I love any thing with fae, dragons, magic, vampires, wyre, and add a little romance to make it perfect. Historical Romances are another genre I enjoy. Thanks for letting me join!

message 217: by alicat ♡➹♡ (new)

alicat ♡➹♡ | 21 comments Hi! I'm Alison and I'm pretty new to romance novels - not audiobooks though. I'm a huge fantasy, paranormal, sci-fi, mystery, historical fiction lover and I'm adding romance to that - I prefer romances from the areas I just mentioned.

Right now I'm listening through the Dark Hunters series by Sherrilyn Kenyon and absolutely love it! I prefer Holter Graham's narration (he also does the Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs)

I adore Immortals after Dark and Robert Petkoff as the narrator.

I'm a huge Ilona Andrews fan and Renee Raudman is fantastic.

I'm sure there are more but right now these are the ones coming to mind!

Welcome Alison! Boy, you've listed some of my favorite narrators and series (though I didn't know Holter Graham narrated Kenyon's series...I've been reading them...switch time!).

Enjoy the group!

Hi Jonetta! He starts narrating mid-way through the series. I think #9 or so, Fred Berman narrates quite a few too and he's pretty good. Just not as good as Holter Graham!

Looks like he shows up at #11; I'm up to #7. I'll listen to a sample of Berman. I've not heard of him before.

message 221: by Karin (new)

Karin (aquariandancer) | 809 comments Hi! My name is Karin and I am an audiobook junkie. I have been listening for about five years. By now, I've listened to 510 audiobooks and my number rises each year. My favorite genres are Contemporary/Suspense, Paranormal, Sci-Fi/Fantasy and LGBTQ/Menage Romance. I prefer Historical Romance in print. ;-)

As for narrators, there are SO many! I love Amanda Ronconi, Lauren Fortgang, Kaleo Griffith, William Martin, Andi Arndt (JMU DUKES!), Luke Daniels, Aiden Snow, etc...

Holly (hollylynn32) | 12 comments I just found this group which is shocking that I haven't sooner as I belong to another Audiobook Challenge group. I thought this would be a great group to join to get/give author recommendations. Especially with the new Romance Package on audible! Anywho....I like just about all types of romance: urban fantasy, paranormal, historical, contemporary. My favorite authors include:

Kresley Cole
Jeaniene Frost
Karen Marie Moning
Darynda Jones
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

I cannot pick a favorite narrator but I do like: Holter Graham, Robert Petkoff, Tavia Gilbert, and Lorelei King.

I go through about 2 -3 audiobooks a week.

Renegade ♥ (renegadeheart) | 280 comments *waves*

I've been a member for a while but just realized that I hadn't stopped in to say hi.

So, hello everyone :)

My love of audiobooks has grown over the past few years as they allow me to read so much more and immerse myself in other worlds while doing various things.

And fantastic narrators are such a gift, aren't they? When they not only read, but give a performance that totally draws you in and takes you there?

Out of the many wonderful narrators I've listened to, two of my absolute faves are:

Susan Ericksen (In Death series by J.D. Robb)
Renée Raudman (Kate Daniels series and other books by Ilona Andrews)

Also gotta give props to Michael Lesley who did a fabulous and hilarious job with The Lightning-Struck Heart.

Anyways, I'm glad to be here and looking forward to participating in some of the challenges this year and connecting with my fellow audiobook lovers :)

message 238: by Sela (new)

Sela (selacarsen) I'm Sela Carsen and I'm a newbie to audio. I only really started listening to audiobooks last year when I took up weaving, although we'd done a few audiobooks as a family for long road trips before that. So far, my favorites have been pretty much anything by Neil Gaiman. I was riveted to his Norse Mythology and American Gods.

I'm also an author of Paranormal and Sci-Fi Romance, and I'm just dipping my toe into audio there, as well. My 3rd story is about to come out - it turns out that I love the process of working with my narrator! - and I'm thinking about adding stories from my other series to my offerings.

But since I'm still getting my feet wet on the listening end, too, I look forward to getting some suggestions and finding great stories!

Danielle (_danireads) | 16 comments Hi, I'm Danielle! And I'm so glad I found this group. I do a lot of travel for work, so audiobooks have become my life over the last couple of years. I've pretty much been listening to the BDB series on repeat. But now that I'm up-to-date with that series and I have some Audible credits, I've been having trouble deciding what to get next. I love the romance genre, so this group seems perfect for me! I can't wait to find some good series to start downloading. :)

Danielle (_danireads) | 16 comments Thanks for the welcome everyone!

And L J, Psy-C is my favorite series! I think I tried listening to the audiobooks once before. I’m not sure if it was a narrator issue or a me getting distracted issue that kept me from finishing the first book. I may have to try again! :D

message 250: by Savannah (new)

Savannah Brooks Hi everyone! New and excited to be here. I have always loved to read but don't find a lot of time for it anymore; however, I have lots of time (driving) to listen. I decided to give audible a trial in January and haven't looked back, finishing 9 books so far!

I've always said I'm not really a romance fan, but I was wrong! I just never found the right books. I started off this year listening to "Better off Without Him" and enjoyed it so I decided to try the romance package for free. Loving it. I branched out and listened to How to Date Your Dragon & loved it! I finished After I Do which hit me in the feels. I am currently listening to the first in the Bluegrass Brothers series: Bluegrass Undercover. Liking it so far! Also When Dimple Met Rishi and oh my gosh it is SO cute. I am LOVING it! I am enjoying being able to expand my horizons and want to dabble in all the genres, since I can!

I look forward to finding more recommendations and getting to know some of you!
