Nikki Landis (nikkilandis) | 34 comments Thanks for sharing! As a romance author, I'm excited at the possibility of ads on this site.

There are a number of discussions on advertising as great ideas for promoting your books on

P.D.R. Lindsay (pdrlindsay) | 14 comments That's a nice reviewers list, thank you, Ryan. Maybe I'll get a few reviews from here.

William Morgenstein (httpswwwthecrazylifeofbillcom) | 53 comments I am furious with Amazon. For unknown reasons they delete reviews of my book. (I do not pay for reviews). They have in the past and recently they have deleted 3 of the 51 (mostly 5 star) review that I have received. To my this is both stupid and criminal on their part. Is there any relief for this?

Nope, they do it to me all the time. If they think someone is connected to you or got the book for free and didn't disclose it, they will delete. That's why I buy all my books. Even so, they deleted my review from RL. They will look for IP address and if some person in my office writes a review, they won't publish, even if they bought the book.

Prakash Sharma (pvsharma) | 18 comments It happened with me too. Amazon deleted my around 25 - 30 reviews within 10 days.

William Morgenstein (httpswwwthecrazylifeofbillcom) | 53 comments I would like to see Amazon censored and fined for restraint of trade. Note you cannot find out who bought your book, even if the buyer would give their permission. I give out few free copies, usually to famous people that I know in the hopes that they will promote it. Often however they are too busy to read it.

Can't we authors get together and do something about this abuse by Amazon?

Nope, I think we have to just go and get more reviews. It's one of the pains about this business.

Margaret Standafer | 28 comments I know a few authors who have had success contacting Amazon and asking that their reviews be reinstated. One, in particular, had most of his reviews disappear and was able to get nearly all of them back. If you don't already, I would suggest copying all your reviews when they appear (I keep a word document with mine) so you have a record and can easily figure out which ones are missing. You can then be more specific in asking Amazon to put them back up. I've had a few removed too with no valid reason to do so...they were not purchased, not from friends, etc., so it's frustrating to try to figure out why Amazon does what it does.

William Morgenstein (httpswwwthecrazylifeofbillcom) | 53 comments Thank you Margaret. I thought about doing that after the fact and will now copy the 48 reviews that are left in the meantime

They claim it's because they are getting slammed for dishonest or bought reviews. I stopped reviewing products because of that.

I get hundreds of emails a day asking if I would review a product and they will send me money through Paypal. I won't touch them or their product. I only buy what I purchase now.

Amy Hamilton | 124 comments I should cut and paste my reviews, I don't have enough to lose any of them lol!

Alyson Stone (alysonserenastone) | 194 comments Someone told me about it. I write reviews for authors. Is there any way to keep my written reviews from being deleted?

You have to disclose that you were given a copy of the book, but a review was not expected. That the opinion is entirely your own, you are not influenced by the author, and you did the review freely or some such baloney. It's all really dumb.

I buy all my books now. They had a field day eliminating many of my reviews.

William Morgenstein (httpswwwthecrazylifeofbillcom) | 53 comments Looks like good intentions gone astray by amazon, but what they are really doing in my view is that they are trying to encourage people to buy their books and products through Amazon.

William Morgenstein (httpswwwthecrazylifeofbillcom) | 53 comments P.S. Amazon doesn't answer my email complaints and/or questions

Rayne Dowell (rayne_dowell) | 22 comments Wow. I'm surprised and shocked. I'm a new indie author and recently self-published my first book. I've received 1 amazon review so far and (fingers crossed) I hope it stays there. Thank you for posting, I'll keep an eye on this in future.
