Sumner C Period discussion

“Without pain, how could we know joy?’ I have always just loved this quote. The first time I read it, I almost felt this overwhelming sense of understanding. I understood that the world sucked and it wasn't perfect and that getting hurt was terrible, but I never realized that without being hurt I would never know the joy of excitement, happiness, love. If we had never felt pain, we would all simply be happy robots. I think that when we get to heaven we are going to be so happy because we will remember the pain but we wont feel it. I think going through hard times and pain is just a reminder that on the other side is something joyous and better. I think overcoming pain is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. I think the world can take a lesson from this quote because if you think about it and try to appreciate pain the happiness afterwards becomes sweeter.
