Support for Indie Authors discussion

I posted my book Ebook to Smashwords on Aug 16. I'm still pending review. Is this normal or too long? I'm also still not available on GR and that has me confused. I have sold only 2 books I'm frustrated and want to do some marketing but these two factors are holding me back.

I assume that by "pending review" you're referring to the inclusion of you book in the premium catalog for wider distribution. When you upload your book to Smashwords it should appear immediately on their website and be available for sale.

I recently updated my book cover on Smashwords and it took a very long time to be approved for premium. I think they must have a backlog. In any case, after several years with Smashwords, I pulled out my books and went with Draft2Digital.

You should have already received an email listing what they call AutoVetter errors; if you have none, you should be good to go. Smashwords has a help topic about this, and they claim that the "pending review" stage should take one to five days. https://www.smashwords.com/about/supp...

@ Alexis I do not have an author page on GR. My book is not listed here yet so I couldn't figure out how to build an author page without my book on it.

I'm sorry to sound so "green" about all this but I'm brand new to this world and being honest I'm not very patient or tech savvy to understand it all.

Hi Carol, I deleted my post cause it seemed you were talking about a smashword feature that I didn't know about.

With regard to your book, did you ask the Librarian group to add it or did you do it yourself? They might be able to get it done quicker.

Oh thank you Alexis. I didn't know I had to request the add or do it myself. I thought it was done automatically. That tells you how much I need to learn. I will do that today.
