C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments We will be trying a new method of selecting our book of the month in October. You can nominate any book you want (it doesn't have to be first in a series or standalone) and others will have a chance to "second" your nomination. All nominations/seconds will be stopped around September 24th. The book with the most seconds will become the book of the month, other books with a high number of seconds will have buddy reads set up.

Rules for Nominating/Seconding
*Anyone may nominate as many books as they would like.
*Books can be any number in a series.
*You can "second" as many books as you would like, however, you should plan to read all books you second in the event of a tie for BoM or a high number of seconds (which will result in a buddy read).

Example
I could comment something like:
Steelheart (Reckoners, #1) by Brandon Sanderson

And Jackie would comment:
I second Steelheart.

So Steelheart would have 2 votes on it's tally.

I will periodically post an updated thread with all nominated books and all seconds so that everyone can see what they have voted for and what is leading.

I would second The Black Key (The Lone City, #3) by Amy Ewing , but I don't know that I can get it in time from the library.:/If I do get it, and it doesn't win, do you want me to let you know so we can buddy it?
