Susan (susanstokes) | 19 comments Excited to read Before The Fall with All of you...I miss Discussing Books!

Barbara Sousa | 16 comments Looking forward to starting this next month! I have it on audible and will start it as soon as I finish my current listen.

Msjodi777 | 11 comments I loved this book! Not sure what I was expecting but what I got was not it - and it was WAY BETTER than what I expected. The writing in this book is absolutely beautiful. At this point, that's all I'm saying till others finish it too, cause what I have to say could spoil it for those who haven't read it yet. <><

Faith | 147 comments I also loved this book, it was so well written. I thought the author was very good at developing characters, especially the ones who aren't in the book much, quickly.

I am glad you like it. If you want, you can insert a spoiler which hides the information. Please, see instructions below . I'll test myself in my next comment:).

Simona | 38 comments This book has a movie atmosphere: while I was reading it, I felt like I was there swimming and fighting with the waves for survival:).

My favorite character is Scott. He managed to swim to Montauk..."

I think the book would make an excellent movie. However, the author doesn't suffer from screenwriter syndrome. The book doesn't read like a movie treatment, it's a fully developed novel..

Msjodi777 | 11 comments I forgot that I wanted to say something about one of the "characters" who is really important in the book. Did you know that Jack LaLane was a real person?.... Not only that, but he really did the things that were mentioned in the book. I'm old enough to remember when he was on tv back in the late 50s and early 60s.... wish I'd listened to him sooner in my life, I might not have had some of the health problems I do. If you are interested you can read wikipedia's entry about him: Jack LaLanne. He was pretty amazing.

... and Simona, I thank you for the instructions about adding spoilers, that's the next thing I need to learn to do here on goodreads, but I'm still working on adding the web site references... nearly have it, so it won't be long before I move on to the spoilers. LOL <><

I remember Jack LaLane. He was an exercise buff. He was in great shape.

Jack LaLane died when in his 90s and he was in better shape than most are in their 30s. Certainly in a lot better shape than I was at pretty much any time of my life. Very impressive man, indeed.

Barbara Schultz | 12 comments I had planned to finish this on August 23. But I could not put it down so finished ahead of time and forgot that this was one of the Aug books up for discussion. At first I had mixed feeling as I didn't like the raw language, nor did I like that nasty foul mouth Bill Cunningham Only someone as nasty as him would say -"His 'effin daughter is at the bottom of the Ocean. I held her at her 'effin baptism" Really? Wasn't sure if I could continue reading anything this guy has to say. But I had a fascination as to what happened. (view spoiler)
