Mike | 56 comments This wasn't quite what I had expected. Sort of an absurdist supernatural comedy Shotgun Joe Currently available for request on NetGalley
Shotgun Joe by Bob Mann

My review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

What happens when your cat starts talking to you and you start having waking dreams and prophetic visions involving mysterious cult leaders and impending doom? Nothing good, I assure you.

PattyMacDotComma | 1244 comments What a debut! I absolutely loved When We Were Vikings by Andrew David MacDonald. Zelda is different and awkward and she knows it, but she faces life with an honest earnestness that I wish more people had. It's not a 'thriller' but it's certainly got bad guys.

Carolyn | 1613 comments I'm not sure what genre this is - not exactly a thriller or mystery, although there are unexplained murders and a missing woman. There is a fantasy element, but it's also possible the narrator is delusional. That's about all I can say without heading into spoiler territory!

Christine Indorf | 1814 comments Some advice to those trying to get into NetGalley. I was rejected at first which all of us go through. So I requested four books at the same time to review thinking I wouldn't get accepted. Well all four came in at the same time and all due for review at the same time. I felt terrible but had to turn some down. So a valuable lesson learned!!

I had a similar experience. When I first joined I assumed if I didn't hear back within a day or two it meant I would be denied. Not so! I ended up with something like 12 approvals my first week and had to play catch-up. I've had a few books that took up to a month for approval.
