Madeline (maddyd51) What's the significance of the archive date if you have already downloaded the book?

I think a lot of people use the archive date as a general read by date. So knowing when a book is archived helps to know when they plan to have it finished.

Yes, it really has no significance other than you can't download after that date. But as the publisher tends to have it near publication, many people use it as their target date to read.

Yeah Nicole, I really did not like "Lizzie Lovetts Hundred Lies". It was really slow and boring and the premise had a lot of plot holes. Anyways, I had a bit of a dry spell with reading lately so hopefully I'll get my head back in the game of NetGalley haha

In other news, I'm so excited because my request for "Difficult Women" by Roxane Gay just got accepted and I can't wait to read her newest novel.

message 106: by Madeline (new)

Madeline (maddyd51) Ahh, gotcha. I'm so far behind that I just look at the publication date!

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Well, guys, I'm in the middle of what is proving to be a rather mammoth read for the month and I'm not sure that I'll get any more books finished before the end of the month (and I have time to properly update right now) so I'm gonna go ahead and put my month of September information up here now.

The first two books listed there are the two books I've had on my shelf for the longest, so I'm proud of that at least!

Beginning of Month
Shelf count 26
Ratio 41%

Read in September:
Blood Red Snow White by Marcus Sedgwick The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti The Departed by Kristy Cooper Points of Departure by Emily O’Beirne All Note Long (Perfect Harmony, #3) by Annabeth Albert Love Beyond Body, Space, and Time An Indigenous LGBT Sci-Fi Anthology by Hope Nicholson

End of Month:
Shelf count 30
Ratio 44%

In conclusion, my books on shelf keep going up, but then again so does my ratio percentage. So... win?

Two reviews posted today in an attempt to offset all of the requests I've made. My percentage is now at 71%. Think I need to post 9 more reviews to hit the magic 80%.

Thanks. Yes, I think I preferred her first book, but I'll seek out more of her work - I don't read a lot of magical realism, but I think she does it very well
