Rafael (rafaelnyc) | 10 comments Hi Librarians !!

Once earning them, I don't normally pay attention to my reviews but my friends alerted me to one reader, posting 1-star reviews, to all three of my books, on the same day, at the same time.

All professional authors expect any book, at any time, may receive a 1-star rating from any reader. It strains credulity to imagine that same reader would then be motivated to read another book by the same author and give it a 1-star rating. It breaks credulity to imagine that same reader would again be motivated to read another book by the same author and give it too a 1-star rating. The odds against this scenario shatter any benefit of the doubt.

It is disheartening to imagine all the hard work I put in to obtain solid reviews of my work can be so easily negated.

Nonetheless, if GR performs its due diligence and determines this individual is a member in good standing and posted the ratings in good faith, I will, however reluctantly, accept it.

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments This is not a librarians issue. If you have concerns about ratings then you need to contact GR Support.

GR allows users to use the ratings any way they wish and not just to rate books they have read

lethe | 16359 comments The reader became a GR member last month, and they may well have read your books prior to joining, since all three were published a few years ago.

Some people buy several books by an author they don't know instead of trying out one title first.

Rafael (rafaelnyc) | 10 comments Thank you, Lethe. It is a stretch to say a reader will buy several books from an author they're not familiar with, but thank you for your response and time.
