Karen (klallendoerfer) | 28 comments I just finished reading this book and wrote a review of it here:

I heard the author speak a couple of years ago in Belmont when the book came out and I found him very convincing. Has anyone else, particularly our members in MA, heard of his work or seen him speak?

I haven't, but I have heard about concerns that climate change is affecting Walden Pond.

Karen (klallendoerfer) | 28 comments That's probably from publicity surrounding this work. Primack points out that currently about 2/3 of the warming at Walden Pond is from a heat island effect (development--roads, buildings, etc.) and 1/3 is from general global warming. But it's a model for what can happen all over the world when temperatures rise.
