Jane (PS) | 24334 comments 1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.

2. Team Captain - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)

3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of Disney, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)

Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 9 September.

4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2.

5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!

* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.

You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.

I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.

Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.

6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation.

7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.

8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.

9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)

10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.

The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Key selection and completion post information. You must have ALL elements in your book posts.

For the initial selection post Option 1 I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please insert a link to the qualifying bookshelf/list.
If the theme is based off the bookcover or a letter in the title etc, please just repeat the theme.

For the initial selection post Option 2 I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.

For the completion post I need:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.

If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I'll be tracking each team's progress separately, using the Captain's summary in each team's thread to check for accuracy.

Shannon (wckdktty) | 479 comments Hi Team,

Shannon/Wckdktty here. I am a veteran of this challenge and love playing it. I think I am even more excited that its based on Disney this round.

I am soon to be 45 and live in Jacksonville, Florida. I am married and have a son that will be 8 soon. I currently am pretty busy volunteering at my sons school as a teacher assistant for all of the elementary grades. I do all the copies, laminating, and such.

Possible group names: Steamboat Willie (first appearance of Mickey Mouse), The 6 Dwarfs (Snow White was the first Princess), 101 Readers (based off being team 1 and 101 Dalmations), Gnomeo and Juliet (Disney movie and book reference), Disneylandettes (Disneyland first park opened), Carousel of Progress (cause we will progress through PTP). I will stop here or this message will be too long. Guess you know I am a Disney Nerd now.

Shannon/Wckdktty

Grace | 1732 comments Hi Team! My name is Grace and I live in San Diego. I'm on Pacific Time, which means themes are usually called after 3 for me. I read mainly MF books and will read any genre of romance. I'm a big Disney fan and am super excited about the theme! I'm not the best at names, but I'll think of some tomorrow, when I'm not so tired.

Kaity | 492 comments Hi! :) I'm Kait. This is my first time playing pass the parcel. Not sure why it took me so long to join in! I love the pick-it-for-me and meet and greet challenges hosted here.

A little about me... I live with my two fur children (Padfoot the yorkiepoo and Harley the wheaten puppy) in Maine. I am actually a dog groomer too so I'm constantly snuggling dogs. My favorite genres to read are urban fantasy and paranormal romance (the Kate Daniels, The Others and Arcadia Bell series are my favorites) but I read and enjoy a variety of genres.

I LOVE Disney. I used to watch Robin Hood several times a week as a kid :P I'll keep thinking about team names but I'm not great at that until after the fact, then I come up with something perfect. My only idea thus far is Bibbidi Bobbidi Book Lovers.

Kaity | 492 comments Hi Shannon! That's awesome that you're so involved at your son's school. I bet you're a lifesaver :) Cute name ideas, very clever!

Hiya Grace! Ohhh San Diego. I loved my visit there a few years ago. I also read MF.

☘KathyD☘ | 4837 comments hi all! I'm on my kindle, so I'll check in properly tomorrow...just wanted to say "hi!!"

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 2497 comments Hi ladies. Sorry I didn't introduce myself. I was popping in late last night, well for me :)

I live in New York with my hubby, 3 out of 5 children and my dog Dutchess.

I mostly read M/F too. I'm also not great with names. It's a rare moment when I have good ones that pop in my head. Of course I'm a big Disney fan. I've watched everything that Disney has made may 10x with my daughter who was and still is a big fan.

I wouldn't say I'm a vet with this challenge but I've participated in a few of these and I've had a great time. I have also participated in the Pick for me but I've never tried the Meet and Greet. I also seem to miss it and to be honest I'm not sure if if I've read the rules on how that works. LOL.

Hi Kait! I love to volunteer and his teacher this year is extremely happy to have an active parent. I know it keeps me from going crazy being a stay at home mom.

Kaity | 492 comments Hi KathyD! :)

-

Hi Carmen! I've seen most Disney movies multiple times too but have only myself to blame :P I like having them as background noise when I'm reading or doing busywork.
A new meet and greet signup just opened today :) It's sort of like pick it for me but only books on your shelf are picked and a group of people pick 3 books each for you which you then narrow it down to one per person.

Thanks Kait. I just might have to pop on over. Oh boy you just fed my challenge addiction LOL and I have to say I look at them too because I really enjoy them even though they are for kids but who isn't a kid at heart and love HEA :)

message 19: by Zorina (new)

Zorina | 236 comments Hi everybody!!
I'm Zorina, I moved to US 2 years ago from Romania (Transylvania) and leave in NJ with my hubby.
I read M/F books mostly paranormal, SF and historical romance. I'm not a fan of any contemporary romance (too real, or possible), but if I have to I'll read it.
New at this challenge I hope I'm going to do it right, if not I count of you to correct me.
I love Disney, I had my honeymoon at Disney World in Florida and we go there every October for the Food & Wine festival.
I love Shannon's idea 101 Readers.

Let the reading begin!

message 20: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Glad you made it over here Zorina.

Team 1 is now all checked in. Yay!

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 2497 comments Hi Zorina. Wow Transylvania that's awesome. No worries you'll be fine and we'll have a great time and all the help will be available. I have to agree that I quite like 101 Readers. It sounds catchy :)

message 22: by Kaity (new)

Kaity | 492 comments Carmen - ;D I have the same addiction.
Some Disney movies are heartbreaking! I couldn't watch The Lion King when I was a kid. The endings are so satisfying though.

-

Hi Zorina! Wow, that's a big move.
I also prefer paranormal/fantasy for that reason, I'm not interested in 'real life' problems in books, I get enough of that everyday. I still like most contemporary romance but tend to enjoy humorous ones best.

-

101 Readers sounds good to me! :)

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 2497 comments OMG I loved Lion King and another of my favorites is Tarzan.

No biggy KathyD. I figured its Labor Day weekend and we were all over the place. I went to my sister in law's house. It was ok but I wished I was home just hanging out since it wasn't that nice out but it wasn't too bad.

message 35: by ☘KathyD☘ (new)

☘KathyD☘ | 4837 comments That sounds like a great day, Zorina! I can't complain too much about my Labor Day since I got to read for quite a while between folding laundry and helping my husband get dinner together! =)

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 2497 comments Naps? What are those? LOL

message 37: by ☘KathyD☘ (new)

☘KathyD☘ | 4837 comments OK...since I never made it back here to properly introduce myself, I'm going to fix that!

This is my first time participating in PtP and I'm excited to be starting with a Disney-themed challenge. I am a huge Disney fan! While I love most of the classics, my all-time favorite animation is Sleeping Beauty with Lady and the Tramp and the Aristocats close behind! Mary Poppins is my favorite live-action.

I read all types of romance books and look forward to seeing what's in store!

When I'm not reading or listening to a book, I'm an editor and wife. I've been married just shy of 8 years (our 8th anniversary is in October)...we don't have any human children, but do have two fur kids...Lily is our 9-year-old pit bull princess and Callie is our 2-year-old calico/tiger-stripped/tortoise kitty queen...needless to say, they rule the house...they just let us live there and care for them! =)

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 2497 comments OMG I loved Aristocats. The ducks were too funny with their walk and when the uncle was calling out their names. LOL

message 39: by ☘KathyD☘ (new)

☘KathyD☘ | 4837 comments LOL...I love them too! They were downright funny when I was a kid and freaking hysterical as an adult!!

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 2497 comments Every so oftenmy daughter pulls it out and we sit and watch about 2-3 before someone starts complaining. :)

message 41: by ☘KathyD☘ (new)

☘KathyD☘ | 4837 comments LOL...when I was young, my aunt had bootleg copies of some of the Disney films, including Sleeping Beauty. My sister and I would watch it on repeat...day after day...eventually it was "lost" and she introduced us to Lady and the Tramp, the Aristocasts, the Jungle Book...years later she told us she thought there was something wrong with us wanting to watch the movie over and over...she didn't have kids yet, thus didn't understand that's what kids did with their favorite movies! =)

MountainKat | 31636 comments Yep, it's me hijacking another team's discussion again... =P

But I just had to add to this line of conversation, my youngest when he was two had to watch Cinderella everyday! If he sensed that the day was getting away from him and dinner was approaching without watching it, he got very upset! I tried many times to add variation, but it was always Cinderella! I think it was the animals and the music, so light and bubbly. He is heading on 30 now, we still tease him about it. He is a good sport though and my Disneyland buddy - we love to go for our birthdays. =)
