Sally906 | 87 comments I just read All the Birds, Singing by Evie Wyld. Not my cup of tea at all, yesterday morning I was 5th on the waiting list, then an email to say a copy was waiting for me came through just before I finished work.

Anyhow, there must be some good in the book otherwise it wouldn't have won the miles Franklin awards, but I am sure I didn't recognise it.

Here is my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

So only two more books to go to finish my challenge :)

You've still got time to change it for another book you like better:) Or is that being defeatist?

It does pick up and I did enjoy it overall when I read it last year, although as I've said before not as much as I expected to!

Is it your last book, Valerie? If not, maybe give it a break and switch to one of the others you still need to read. If it is your last book - maybe put it aside for the moment, choose another book for that category (is it the Miles Franklin award winner category?) and try it again at a later date...

It's a bit like Christmas - the Seasonal Challenge Announcement.
You get a list of "present receivers"
You check your "present cupboard" to see what you can match up.
Then you look to see what everyone else is buying, for some ideas.
Then off to buy your "presents" and add a few to the "present cupboard" along the way

Sally906 | 87 comments With two to go in order to finish I am now reading I, Migrant by Sami Shah for the real part of 5. Real and Fake. I, Migrant is an autobiography - Sami Shah is a stand-up comedian from Pakistan. To be honest I hadn't heard of him until he appeared in ABCs Australian Story. So when I was offered an ARC of the book I jumped at the opportunity.

I've heard good things about Jo Nesbo's books including that they're pretty scary and you shouldn't read them when you're home alone.
