Brenda wrote: "Are there any particular rules with Buddy Reads Elaine? You and Kathryn do it now and then, so you're both experts!"
Yes - to a buddy read with Elaine - I think we've narrowed it down to Lovesong, The Cuckoo's Calling or Thornwood House (not sure I could manage Les Miserables while doing a challenge - sorry Elaine!).
And I don't know that Elaine or I are any more "expert" at buddy reads than anyone else(!), but Elaine's right, Brenda - how you do a buddy read is entirely up to the 2 of you - I've read the book at more or less the same pace as the other person and we've checked in as we've gone along (being cautious with spoilers!), and I've also read a book before or after the other person and then we've just discussed things after we've both finished, so it just depends on what you'd rather do.
Thanks Kathryn! I'm sure it'll work out one way or the other, and then I'll know what to do for next time:)

Just saw this Kathryn so disregard my comment about it in the PM I just sent you. No problem about Les Mis. I totally understand and am happy to read any of the others.

Oh dear, [book:Frantic|15900384] is a really good book and would be a good one to buddy read but I've already read it as well as the next three in the series. The next one on my list is Silent Fear, but you probably don't want to read them out of order. Maybe someone else is interested?
I haven't read any by Kathryn Fox if you're interested in her books - Malicious Intent is the first in the series. I also have Suspect by Michael Robotham, Fatal Liaison by Vicki Tyley, or The Old School by P.M. Newton and several books by Jo Nesbo (given to me by a friend but not yet read).

What about Malicious Intent by Kathryn Fox, the first in her series featuring Anya Crichton, a forensic pathologist?

I have it here to read for the May challenge Julie (it's up next!) but reading the blurb just now there is mention of love right at the end, so perhaps someone who has already read it - Sally maybe - could confirm it...
The criteria is romance/chick lit/comedy - unless someone who has read it says otherwise, I would say it's OK:)

You probably will like it. I love everything he has written. I just meant that I would hate you and Liam to judge his life's work by that one book, because it isn't the very best thing he has done.
