message 310: by Kira (last edited Jun 10, 2014 08:55PM) (new)

Kira (kirajessup) | 234 comments I've finished my second and third. My #1b A Collector of Affections: Tales from a Woman's Heart was terrible, 1*, and my #4 Tangi's Teardrops: A Single Tear Will Change Everything... wasn't much better at 2*.

I managed to find my #9 Someone Like You at the library this morning so I am hoping to get some good reading in this afternoon (I liked the first novel in this series).

message 311: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn | 3569 comments I've finished my first for this challenge - my lit map choice similar to Diane Setterfield - Geraldine Brooks. I wanted to read March, and have just finished. I wouldn't say Geraldine Brooks is actually all that similar to Diane Setterfield, but it was still a good read. 3.5 stars from me.

Up next will be either Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey (while will be my "real" read - 5a) or The Sins of the Father (my "winter cover" read - no. 6). Need to check library due dates for both to decide!!

Was my top reads last year - having a grandson with Aspergers made me relate to the book even more. I am looking forwards to The Rosie Effect coming out later this year.

message 318: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn Rykiert | 315 comments I am hoping to take part in this challenge this time around - at least to get my book list picked and at least one book read. I find I am taking a long time to read a book at the moment. I have given up on 3 recently because I started them for the last challenge and have not managed to finish them. Happy reading all - it is good to see everyone books lists.
