Spencer Hagan | 20 comments My favorite quote from this reading was, "All life was transmitted into terms of their love, all experience, all desires, all ambitions, were nullified—their senses of humor crawled into corners to sleep; their former love-affairs seemed faintly laughable and scarcely regretted." This quote is talking about the love that Rosalind and Amory share. Their love is powerful and everything seems to revolve around it. It seemed that they were on top of the world and that no one could bring them down because they were on cloud nine. I really like this quote because I like to hear of love and how great it is. Also because happiness is a great feeling and they were too happy to let anyone bring them down. An outside source that I feel could easily be compared to this would probably be “The Great Gatsby.” Gatsby and Daisy were in love and they felt that nothing could bring them down. Their love flowed like a river and their heart were the streams. Everyone saw their love and was jealous of how pure it was. Nothing else mattered to them when they were together. When they were with each other it was almost like the whole world stopped and they were the only two alive, just as Rosalind and Amory shared a similar love in this story.
