LeAnn Millward (leannelizabeth)

Hey everyone! I'm excited to announce our amazing Q&A over the next two weeks with authors Nina Bocci and Alice Clayton! Their book, Roman Crazy releases on September 13th, so be sure to one-click this adorably hilarious book! Ask Nina and Alice your questions below!

Lara Danielle (laraceres14) | 22 comments Ohmyyyygoooooddd. Ms. Clayton will be posting here? :))) I am such a big fan; I have all of her books lol.
Having said that, I am also excited about her collaboration with Ms. Bocci. :)

My question is: What is the genesis of the collaboration? Whose idea was it for them to collaborate, and how did the writing process come about? :)

message 3: by Danny (new)

Danny Jeffery | 43 comments Hi both,
I was wondering what was the most difficult and most emnoyable thing about writing this book for you both ?

warhawke | 1655 comments ★ Question For Alice Clayton
Do you read reviews? Why/why not? If yes, how do you handle negative ones?

★ Question For Nina Bocci
Have you always wanted to be an author, or is it something that came up later in life?

message 5: by Marine (new)

Marine Would you consider writing a book where the action takes place in France?

message 6: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Hi Ms. Alice & Ms. Nina!
- After Roman Crazy, are you going to collaborate again for another romance novel in the future?

My question for Ms. Alice Clayton
- Out of all the books you've written, what's your favorite or the one closest to your heart and why?

My question for Ms. Nina Bocci
- If you are going to write a book in a different genre, what will it be and why?

Nish-The Booknerd Hello to both the authors!

Ms. Clayton, I want to ask when the next book in the Hudson Valley Series will be announced?
Ms. Bocci, when there was a difference of opinion while writing this book, how did you resolve it?
Thank you.

Latifa Morrisette | 84 comments Hi Alice and Nina!!

Ms. Clayton, if you weren't an author what would your profession be?

Ms. Bocci, what inspired you to start writing?

message 9: by Tanja (new) - added it

Tanja Dancy | 87 comments Hello Alice and Nina! How was it writing a book together? How did you split the writing or come together with the story? Since the story is based in Rome, Italy, what kind of research did you do about Italy? Have either of you ever been there? Thank you!

message 10: by Lo Bookfrantic (new)

Lo Bookfrantic | 218 comments ★ Question For Alice Clayton★
Do you like to wite with music of do you prefer the silence? If you like music which type of music do you prefer to listen to?

Isa LaCroqueuseDeLivres (isacroqueusedelivres) Hi,
please, tell us where all those sexy male characters of yours live, so we could all move to this place :D
Do we need a passeport????????

Verna Loves Books (vernalovesbooks) | 38 comments What was your favorite things about writing Roman Crazy?

message 13: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (dramaya) Hello,

I have a bit of a contrary question - doesn't it get exhausting writing only about perfect looking people? :)

And the second one, what was the most difficult part of your collaboration?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Morelia (Strandedinbooks) (strandedinbooks) Hi, Alice and Nina! I'm a huge fan of you guys and I cannot tell you how freaking excited I am for Roman Crazy! <3

My question is: How do you guys make it work to write a novel together? How do you know who writes what and is there something about writing together that you find difficult as opposed to writing your own book?

Sophie Bailey | 3 comments Do you have a favourite character?

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ Do you ladies have a favorite place that you like to write your books? Do you get your inspiration from real life situations or do you twist things that have happen to you personal?

Alice Clapton- I loved Wallbanger and the cat was my favorite and funniest but what made you come up with such a funny moment?

message 17: by Tea (new)

Tea (yummiitea) | 0 comments I'm wondering, how do you come up with your book ideas? Also, how do you stick with it till the end? I can't tell you how many times I've attempted to write, even a short story, and I can't even finish it! It's so hard! That being said, you guys are amazing! I don't know if I could ever do what you guys do!

message 18: by Heather (new)

Heather Scully | 18 comments Hey Alice and Nina!

Oh my god, it's so great to have authors come by and answer questions. And I would ask you something more book based, but I'm having more technical based troubles and I wondered what you'd do in your cases. Both or either can answer, it's all good.

message 19: by Mercedes (new)

Mercedes | 257 comments Alice Clayton I was wondering if you have any writing hard limits? (Maybe HEA only, or you steer clear of a certain genre or certain types of scenes etc.?) If so, why? And I loved Wallbanger, it was hilarious! I do have to say I've been a bit afraid to read anything else from you because I enjoyed Wallbanger so much but your Hudson Valley series has been catching my eye lately.

Nina Bocci I see that you're also a publicist how has that effected your burgeoning author career? Do you think it's more of a help or a hindrance?

message 20: by Heather (new)

Heather | 14 comments I read the first couple of chapters that came in the bookworm box last month and loved it!! Are you two planning on writing any additional books together?

message 21: by Stephanie (new) - added it

Stephanie (bookworm66) Hello Ms. Clayton & Ms. Bocci! Thank you for taking our questions!

My question for both of you is how did you first meet and how did the collaboration materialize?

message 22: by Jenny (new) - added it

Jenny (jrapp1990) | 6 comments I am familiar with Alice's work, but not Nina's. Is this the first book you co-wrote together?

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments Hi, Lara! We've been friends for years and have toyed with the idea of writing together quite often. I've been kept very busy with publicity and life ;) and Alice clearly has been writing her fingers off with a ton of bestsellers. When this project came to mind, we thought it would be the best chance for us to collaborate :) LeAnn wrote: "

message 24: by Nina (new) - added it

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments For both of us, I would say it was important for the book to NOT sound like Alice or like Nina. Our goal was having a new, gelled voice that wasn't one-sided :) Danny wrote: "Hi both,

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments Hi!

We had a very detailed outline that we put together in person so we really hashed out quite a bit that way. If things went a bit astray, we talked it out and if we couldn't agree, we have a friend Jess who settled the score :)

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments Hi!
I've always enjoyed telling stories and watching people react to them. That's a great source of inspiration Latifa wrote: "Hi Alice and Nina!!

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments Hi! It was a lot of fun and a lot of stress. We wanted it to be the best book we could write together so with the help of our editor, Lauren, we pushed ourselves into thinking differently. Yes, I've been to Italy man times but Alice hasn't. After her researching this book though, she's put it up to number one on the travel wish list. I take a ridiculous amount of photos when I travel so every place mentioned is a real place :) Tanja wrote: "Hello Alice and Nina! How was it writing a book together? message 32: by Nina (new) - added it

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments Pushing ourselves to thinking outside the box. We had an idea in mind for the book and we really worked hard together to get it there. Learning something new about ourselves was very enjoyable. Verna wrote: "What was your favorite things about writing Roman Crazy?"

message 33: by Nina (new) - added it

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments You know what, it does. I think that there are people that want to read more realistic fiction. If that makes sense.
The most difficult part was balancing the voice. We didn't want it to sound too much like either one of us but to create a 'new' voice ;) Barbara wrote: "Hello,

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments We had an incredibly detailed outline. Since it's all in Avery's voice, we couldn't break it up by chapter boy/girl, so we took scenes and from there we broke them up. After that, we'd read what the other wrote and edit it ;) Morelia (Strandedinbooks) wrote: "Hi, Alice and Nina! message 35: by Nina (new) - added it

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments For the other question, yes, it's more difficult when writing your own because you don't have to run it by someone else first. Just you and your editor. This added an extra element to it. :) Morelia (Strandedinbooks) wrote: "Hi, Alice and Nina! I'm a huge fan of you guys and I cannot tell you how freaking excited I am for Roman Crazy! <3

For me, ideas come from everywhere and anywhere. It's crazy really. I had an idea for a story after watching a hotel being torn down LOL Cori wrote: "I'm wondering, how do you come up with your book ideas? Also, how do you stick with it till the end? Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments That's the plan. We don't know exactly when as we're both working on solo books at the moment but we do have MANY more Broads Abroad books in mind :) Heather wrote: "I read the first couple of chapters that came in the bookworm box last month and loved it!! Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments Hi! We met waaaaaay back in 2008 in the Twilight fanfiction fandom. We've been BFF ever since :)
The collaboration was just a case of the right time and place and some cosmic intervention. I think. We knew we wanted to write together, we just didn't know what. I had just come back Italy and was talking to Alice about the idea and we decided that this was it! Stephanie wrote: "Hello Ms. Clayton & Ms. Bocci! Thank you for taking our questions!

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments Hi! Yes, this is the first that we've collaborated on. I was a part of the Domino novel FELONY EVER AFTER that was the creation of Debra Anastasia and Helena Hunting. That was great fun as well! What if one doesn't like the directions it's going and wants to change it? How do you overcome differences of the plot, if there is any. Lol.

I would love to ask you both, where do you get your inspiration for the stories you write. Is somehow based on real life moments?

Thank you!

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments Hi! This came up a few times. We had some ideas that we were willing to fall on a sword for and others that we had no issue changing. When the sticking points proved too much for us to work through, we brought in our friend Jess or Lauren our editor. Ultimately the most important thing for us was making the BEST book possible. So,with that in mind, we worked through everything pretty smoothly :) Michelle wrote: "What's the hardest part about co-writing a book?

Nina Bocci (ninabocci) | 28 comments OMG well, we discussed this at the RT Convention co-writing panel and how some of them were awful. AWFUL. We knew we wanted to make it different but some were just above and beyond different and into the ridiculous stage LOL. Roman Crazy was one of three that we loved and we put it out to some of our best writer friends to help us decide. Unanimously they chose it. The next few Broads Abroad books are also titles we LOVE Betul wrote: "Hi Nina & Alice,
