LOL!

"No, fish like that don't exist".

With which he turned over and quietly fell asleep again.

Nicole Ian, I laughed at this part too! Does your copy of the book include illustrations? The picture of the fish was absolutely grotesque!

I have a additional section with pictures in the center of the book, but I have been avoiding it in case there are spoilers. I guess since it is non-fiction, I can assume the author survives the voyage... unless they just found his manuscript on an island, next to his shrunken head... :-)

Luella | 0 comments Have any of you ever read Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen some parts of this book are reminding me of that one. I am having so much fun reading this. I am Hawaiian and Swedish so this is like a total treat for me. I really have to thank the person who nominated this. It's a nice departure from Moby Dick which I still haven't finished but will.

Nicole Shrunken head! Ha! :D

Time for a reboot!

Michelle (mich2689) | 263 comments LOL I laughed at that part too, Ian. The description of kon-tiki's departure was hilarious too. Imagine doing that trip alone with just a parrot for companionship.

I'm going to have to go look for that picture of the grotesque fish because my version didn't come with illustrations.
