Blogger Lift discussion

Hey Guys,

I have had my blog for nearly two years and I would like some feedback on it.

I am always open to new suggestions on how I can make my blog better and more efficient for my readers.

Also I would like some ideas on how to celebrate my blog's second birthday as I am still new to blogging and I have a lot to learn.

Hmm... in my humble opinion, the header looks a tad bit too big... at least in height. O_O

I do agree that the header is too big. When you open the page it is the only thing you see. I really like the rest of the layout, especially the slideshow. My only other recommendation would be to try and keep the same font in your posts. It might just be my OCD kicking in, but the different fonts are slightly distracting.

The header is a bit big. Also your "My Links" would be nicer if you put them into a html/javascript blogger box. Then, I think they'd be clickable.
Overall, it looks very nice!
Blogoversary ideas? Giveaways are always good for a blogoversary.

How do you make the banner smaller and how do you make a cool banner like the ones you see on other blogs?

For your links I'd suggest using icons... here's a free set that will come with instructions on how to install them...

I think your sidebars could use some re-arranging... move the search bar higher, maybe make a label cloud instead of list, condense the book stuff- some is repetitive, and I'd suggest adding a popular post widget.

And I'd keep the text blue...the red and green isn't good on the eyes :)

The blog post Regan posted is how I currently display my links, check it out, it has a video, so it's pretty much foolproof, even if HTML is difficult for you.

To do the links, as plain, but clickable:
If you go into Blogger Layout, click add a gadget on the sidebar. Scroll down some to find the HTML/Javascript option and click the plus sign- you can put your links in there under Follow Me Here, etc.

If you use the link Regan gave, it makes the links so much prettier. And it shouldn't be difficult to do, the video enabled even me (I'm not that techie) to get those nice buttons.

@Regan How would you suggest reshuffling the sidebars and would it cost me anything to ask you to make me a banner :)

Definitely move the search bar and navigation links to the top and then put "like" things by "like things" so maybe have all your post related stuff together like
