The Elves say they are the oldest species, the first to inhabit Unycia, and the elders of the species are so old they might just be telling the truth. So long as Elves wear their Life Charm, usually worn on a necklace, they will live forever. This makes Elves immortal, but not invincible. However, the charms do not work on any species but Elves, therefore making them not of much value to thieves. So long as they have their charms, Elves are able to look whatever age they like, though they usually prefer to mimic the appearance of humans in their age that is proportionate to their own. For example, a two hundred year old Elf may decide to look like a fourty year old human so their age is more accurately depicted to others.

Elves are similar in appearance to humans, though they tend to grow slightly higher, about four to seven feet. Their skin color is most often light and pale, though a few darker skinned Elves have been known to exist. Their ears are longer and pointed, but not to a degree that they get in the way. Most often they grow their hair out long, even the men, as they feel it makes them look more royal and high in status.
