I have the Elliott, Lackey/Mallory, and Herbert/Anderson new books on my list, and some credit coming at Borders, so I might be in business. However, I almost never buy hardbacks, so I might have to wait and use my credit for some other things.

message 4: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kathry) I'm hesitant to pick up any of the new graphic novels based on my favorite books. I will if someone raves about it. It's just that sudenly there are so many.

I'm waiting for book 8 in Rachel's Caine's weather warden series and Patricia Brigg's book 2 in her alpha and omega series, both in August.

There are many authors on this list who I would like to try but just haven't gotten around to it.

I just added To Ride Hell's Chasm by Janny Wurts to the list --- it's being released in a new paperback edition in August, but somehow was missing from my list. It's also up for Book of the Month in October.

Aside from that one, there isn't a whole lot on the list I'll be reading immediately. I have Mark Chadbourn's trilogy on the shelf, so will want to read that first before getting into any new ones. I'll definitely buy the new Steven Erikson (I always wait for the paperback edition of his books because the hardcovers are just too huge to lug around). Aside from those, I'll be working on my to-be-read stacks instead.

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) I've been reading and enjoying the Quantum Gravity series, and have been looking forward to 'Chasing the Dragon', so I'll be picking that up. Not sure if I'll get to it in August, though, as I'm developing quite a pile at home.

Also released in August is Fables, volume 12, for those who are following this fantasy/fracture fairy tale comic series.

I have some Chadbourn books, and I liked the ones I've read, so I'll probably be adding his to my list.

Didn't catch this when I looked through the list the first time, but I'll be waiting for paperback, too.

Carolyn (seeford) Nothing really grabbing me from the list this month - I'll be concentrating on catching up with some of the books already on my immense TBR shelf, I think. = )
