Miranda | 1 comments Hi Mr. Coelho, I read O Alquimista in the original, and when I mentioned the curtain of plastic strips in the fortune tellers rooms, and o pipoqueiro, nobody knew what I was talking about. So I looked at an English translation and found those things had been changed to make them possible in the time period. I believe there was also a mention of rifles, but I never checked that in the translation.I thought you might well have put those anachronisms in there on purpose as an indication the story wasn't really strictly about the historical time period in which it was set. Was that deliberate or just whimsy? thanks, Terron
