Horror Aficionados discussion

I ran across the Z 2134 series in a banner ad here on GR. I am intrigued at the prospect of a weekly serial release (looks like 45 pages per installment), this one has 5 of 6 released already. I am hesitant though because I don't enjoy YA books and The Hunger Games is listed in the first sentence of the synopsis "z 2134 is a thrilling new zombie serial in the spirit of 1984, The Walking Dead, and The Hunger Games, from the writers of the post-apocalyptic smash hit serial, Yesterday’s Gone."

Outside of that it seems interesting but with 576 ratings it is only averaging 3.44 so I thought I'd come to more refined readers here for opinions. I know this has been posted a couple of times in the freebies thread but I haven't seen any discussion of it here. For two bucks I probably shouldn't worry so much but I have a huge enough TBR pile already that I don't need to add something mediocre to the pile.
