Constructivism

Constructivism was the last and most influential modern art movement to flourish in Russia in the 20th century. It evolved just as the Bolsheviks came to power in the October Revolution of 1917, and initially it acted as a lightning rod for the hopes and ideas of many of the most advanced Russian artists who supported the revolution's goals. It borrowed ideas from Cubism, Suprematism and Futurism, but at its heart was an entirely new approach to making objects, one which sought to abolish the traditional artistic concern with composition, and replace it with 'construction.'

Thoughts of this movement? In you, what kind of feeling does it evoke? Not necessarily if you 'like' or 'don't like' it, just the first thoughts that come to your mind. Would this be an exhibit you would like to attend?

Yes, I would have liked to attend this but only first time around. There doesn`t seem to be much depth to this, my general criticism of much cutting edge, avant garde art.

There is a deceased artist by the name of Ponce whose work is collected by the MACAY city art museum of Merida, Yucatan, MX and in the last room there is a similar display in its center. It consists ofPonce´s drafting table, particularly related to his work which had a strong architectonic design quality. Other than that, had I visited this 1921 exhibition, then I most probably wouldn´t be alive today.
