徐劭旸 | 2 comments I just got in college this month, and I want to use this stag to spare feminism, but judging by people in China don't know much about feminism,so I think I should take it slowly,as some different stages, going deeper and deeper slowly. So your advice would be helpful for me,what should I begin with? I was thinking begin with 'female in the new age, confidence, independence and so on 'but how should I deepen this topic,to lead to feminism not so abruptly, and make the boys in my class to accept feminism too! I need u!

Tim I'm not entirely sure what you mean (the use of the quotes kind of throws me off), but if the bottom line of your question is about spreading (positive) awareness on feminism, I would recommend bringing it up in a certain group that happens to discuss things related to sex, gender, or society in general. Since you are in university, I'm sure there's all manner of groups that could fit that bill. To me, the first kind of group that comes to mind would be activist groups that seek radical social change. If they've already talked about feminism and agree with its goals, then perhaps they could give you better advice on spreading awareness. Another group I'd recommend would be people who study political sciences or philosophy (if there are any at your campus), as I think they're most likely to be very opinionated on such topics, so that you can at least have some conversation.

As far as my knowledge goes, China seems to be in a generally more patriarchal state, on top of being far more caught up in capitalism, so I'm certain you'll find some people willing to discuss things (and I'm bringing up capitalism because in my experience, many anti-capitalists are also very intersectional feminists).

Amy Lauren | 22 comments A school campus is a great place to discuss issues of equality and to bring students and faculty together to take progressive action as well.

I've included some links to articles that could help with getting started. They're all HeForShe-related, so hopefully the males in your school will also feel welcome to participate.

There are plenty of other resources out there and engaging with your gender studies, humanities, and political science professors should also help, I imagine.
