Sumit Singla (sumitsingla) Have a killer idea? Suggest it here, so that we can gain more from your awesomeness.

message 4: by Anirban (new)

Anirban (gongoozler) Guys just start the game threads. :)

message 5: by Sumit (new)

Sumit Singla (sumitsingla) Ok, I started one - in case you think it's a lame game, please ditch it and suggest more. :P

Em Lost In Books (emlostinbooks) Why don't you start thread where people sign up each month and challenge themselves for a genre that is totally out of their comfort zone?

I don't know if it is a good suggestion.........

It is a good suggestion, no doubt! I think it helps everyone evolve as a reader to shed some rigidity and become a better and more complete reader.

Em*Greedy* (Iniya) (iniya_n) Good suggestion manju.. We can try genres we have never attempted so far..!!

Em Lost In Books (emlostinbooks) Iniya wrote: "Good suggestion manju.. We can try genres we have never attempted so far..!!"

thats the idea:D:D

message 10: by Em Lost In Books (new)

Em Lost In Books (emlostinbooks) & one don't choose genre and book for that challenge. Mod will do that. Surprise factor both in selection of genre and book.

Em*Greedy* (Iniya) (iniya_n) Ha thats nice..:-):-) More work for the mod..:P:P

Sumit Singla (sumitsingla) Manju wrote: "& one don't choose genre and book for that challenge. Mod will do that. Surprise factor both in selection of genre and book."

Surprise factor challenge added, folks. You need to pick the genre provided, but you have the flexibility to read what you want, within that genre. :)

message 13: by Anoop (new)

Anoop Pai B (anooppai) Any scope for a fat book challenge? ;)

message 14: by Sumit (new)

Sumit Singla (sumitsingla) Of course! Been meaning to add that too. Will do sometime today :)

message 15: by Anoop (new)

Anoop Pai B (anooppai) So i get a nod from the mod :D

message 16: by Anirban (new)

Anirban (gongoozler) what kind of FATNESS are we talking about here?? Are we to take ME as a benchmark for FATNESS???

Also, feel free to start a buddy read thread, if you think it's a book that someone would be interesting in buddy reading with you. :)

message 22: by Em Lost In Books (new)

Em Lost In Books (emlostinbooks) a thread where one can tell which book he/she is picking up next and would love to have someone join him/her for a buddy read....

message 25: by Anoop (new)

Anoop Pai B (anooppai) All are aware of the last letter word game, wherein the 2nd word is written based on the last letter of the 1st word.... Why not read books on that logic? The last letter of one book becomes the first letter of the next book to be read??

message 29: by Sumit (new)

Sumit Singla (sumitsingla) Sure! You game to be on the hot seat? :)

message 30: by Sharad (new)

Sharad (sharaddwivedi) That was actually meant for you... :P

message 31: by Sumit (new)

Sumit Singla (sumitsingla) I'm forbidden by the Interplanetary Convention of Superheroes to disclose information about myself.

Oops, did I say too much already?

message 32: by Sharad (new)

Sharad (sharaddwivedi) We will get an official permission from the Convention for u to disclose some information, whatever you are hiding...XD

Try it this time and I'm pretty sure it will be U on the hot seat....Don't u want to know that???

message 35: by Bec (new)

Bec (_becandbooks) Forgive me if it already exists (I am known to quite blind) but I would LOVE if there was a discussion for us to list all of our challenges.

I find it so much easier to keep up to date and find links to update etc etc if I have one thread that I can keep track of everything.

message 36: by Bec (new)

Bec (_becandbooks) bump

message 37: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) Becca - If I interpret your request correctly, you are looking to create a thread for keeping track of your own personal challenges right? If that is so -

You can create your own personal thread in this folder

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

And use that thread to keep track of your challenges and reads, both for this group as well as others. Hope this helps :)

message 38: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis *rushes to make a thread* ^_^

message 39: by Bec (new)

Bec (_becandbooks) This is perfect. Thank you!

message 40: by Anirudh (new)

Anirudh Is there an option to fine members for not posting? ;) I'll take 30% for the idea ;)

message 41: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis I will take the other 70% only..... :P

message 42: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) Hahaha no Anirudh!

But post where? If it is the BOTM then I sure do hope that the people who have voted for the book, do read and participate. :)

Anirudh Srividya wrote: "Hahaha no Anirudh!

I mean in general. Lately the group is becoming silent :(

message 44: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) Well... most of the kids have exams and the others have their work. It's just a case of real life interfering with the virtual one. Hopefully once the exams are done and people's work schedules get balanced, we will see more chatter everywhere. At least that's what I think and hope! Meanwhile, the people who are active are working on increasing the participation. So let's just wait, okay? :)

message 45: by Anirudh (new)

Anirudh I see the word chatter being used ;)

message 46: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) I knew you would pounce on it, which is why I used it! ;)

But seriously, I think we can hope for more participation once things settle down... at least that's what I am hoping!

Uday Kanth (udayk) | 53 comments Hi there, I dunno if this was discussed before but won't it be good if we had themed monthly reads on Indian fiction? Recently I've realized there are quite a few good books out there by Indian writers which deserve to be read. Probably this can be a good platform to do that? What say?

For eg. I want to read an Indian novel based on the IT industry. Or a sci-fi novel set in India. I'm sure we can come up with more interesting themes.
