Nadeem, glad to know you're slowly getting back to reading. I hope you enjoy many fascinating reads in the new year. :)
Luffy, is your name inspired from the protagonist in One Piece? I think that show is awesome! :D
Erin, love that detailed introduction! I am not that into Non-fiction but there are some in the group who do enjoy the genre. The only Non-fiction book I read this year is a memoir called The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. It's a lovely story and I really liked it. Welcome to the group and I hope we can help you expand your reading horizons. Happy reading! :)
Hello Nadeem, Luffy, and Erin! Welcome to the group!

I'm Dave, from the USA, although spending only three weeks in India messed with my head a couple of years ago. I hope to return before my visa expires. I would love to do some research for one of those "future writing projects."
By day, I teach, even though my bio says I'm "not the kind of doctor who can do you any good." And yes, I also love to write. I'm currently working on a second novel, set during and around the American Civil War.
I look forward to the lively conversation I see happening in this group!
In Spirit & Truth

Anyway, I'm looking forward to participate in challenges and discussions with everyone.
Nice to meet you all :)
P.S. I apologize in advance because my english may not be perfect. I read a lot in english, but my first language is spanish. In spite of that, I'll do my best ;)

Welcome, Natalia. Delighted to have you with us. University can be a major investment of time and energy, but do drop in from time to time. :)

Your remark reminds me of something my late father-in-law used to say. "In graduate education, you learn more and more about less and less until, eventually, you know everything about nothing!"

I'm really looking forward in participating in discussions and challenges because reading is my life and there aren't many people I can share my readings with right now !
PS :I'm apologing for my english because, even if I read in english, I'm french and have difficulties with writing in english !
PPS : I'm also a HUGE fan of Doctor Who !! ;)

We hope to read loads with you folks and have some great discussions too.

Hiya Amoon...I've only been in your country once long ago and I'd love to learn more about it. Petra is beautiful. If memory were a tapestry, my time there would be worked in threads of silver...

I am a fourth year psychology student living in south-east QLD, Australia. I am a self-professed cat-lover, coffee-addict, tech-geek, zoloft-taking, yoga-doing kind of girl. I can play many instruments and have performed live on a number of occasions (although I have never found the use of displaying youtube videos).
I've joined because I get restless when I'm on here but people in my other groups aren't active. So I am once again branching out to make bookish friends.

I am sure you will make more bookish friends here :D
Have fun :)

violin
trumpet
cornet
bass/alto/piccolo recorder
and I have taught myself
viola
keyboard
guitar
vocals/harmonies
and a little bit of drums

Our Ginny here is a piano player! It's great that you have taught yourself to play ^_^
Not many people can do that! :)
I learn vocal singing with an Indian instrument, harmonium. :)

I eat up urban fantasy, fantasy, thriller, fiction and young adult novels that don't have a mountainous focus on romance. Strong male leads are my thing, the Cal Leandros novels by Rob Thurman rule the Earth, and The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon is a masterpiece.
Thank you for having me. (insert dramatic bow)

I also love The Shadow of the Wind. In fact it's one of my favourite reads! Glad to see a fellow lover of that book.
Hope you have a wonderful time with us :)

I am new to this kind of group activity. Looking forward to some interesting discussions.

Other things about that matter and are important:
I'm married, going on 3 years.
Have a beautiful daughter that is about to turn 2 years old.
I'm a stay at home father. (Be jealous because I rather enjoy it ^_^).
Finally, I am an inspiring writer but I understand I have a long way to go from where I am now.

You have a beautiful family and what a cute daughter! All the very best in your writing endeavors.

I love science fiction/ Romance/ and Thriller & Mystery genres. I am sure here I may find many enthusiastic readers and great friends who love reading and always willing to discuss about books and related topics.
Have a great evening guys.

Hello everyone,
This is Biswajit Ganguly. I am an author from Kolkata and my science fiction novel B-3456 has been recently published in Kolkata Book Fair. But besides writing, I am an avid reader, too. I am here to exchange cultural thoughts with you all. :)
