First let me say I'm sorry I haven't been here much lately. I've just been pretty busy.

2nd: I was wondering if there is still members who are interested in this group? Or, is it pretty much a dud?

3rd: Is there anyone interested in helping with running the group?

message 2: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Hi! I joined about a month ago and am interested in keeping this group going as I'm always looking for books about animals :) I'm not sure about helping running it as I'm not very good with ideas :)

C. | 23 comments I enjoy stories in all genres that include animals, but I have to admit that besides cozy mysteries and some romances, very little of what I read, does have animals in the story.

Regular mysteries, fantasy, sci-fi, thrillers and most romance just don't. These are what I read the most.

I'm really glad to see that there is people here still interested in this group. It took me awhile to get it going so I hated to think about closing it up.

I need help with keeping interest with the members running this group. Maybe some new ideas to get members interested in participating in the group again.

Anyone who is interested in helping admin. please PM me. Let me know what you can help with.

We need help picking books related to these topics, and especially getting conversations going about books with this group.

Chelley Kitzmiller | 3 comments Hi, please keep it going. Send me something to tell people how to sign up and I'll put it on my pet rescue's facebook page. I run Have a Heart Humane Society in Tehachapi, CA. Maybe it will drum up some business and I can also put the info on our website. haveahearthumanesociety.org

If you look on Amazon.com, you will see that we have two books that help support our organization's rescue efforts. They are Oscar Goes Camping, which is a spoof on campers and a great gift book for a camper. We also have Touched By A Furry Angel. The true stories of our volunteers' pets and pet owners just in our town, are really well written and inspiring. While producing the book, I went into an elementary school and had a contest with the kids for their stories and pictures. Those are also in the book. The profits of both books helps support the rescue, but I'm not every good at publicizing them, which means not much word out and low sales.

Vaseem Khan (vaseemkhan) | 5 comments hi Barb

I think you should keep this group going. I love animals and write a light-hearted crime series set in India featuring a baby elephant as a sidekick. Here's a bit of info about the series for anyone interested:, For fans of The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency series - The first book in my series The Unexpected Inheritance of Inspector Chopra is a Times Saturday bestseller, Waterstones Book Club selection and Amazon Best Debut pick. This 2015 hit introduces readers to Inspector Ashwin Chopra of the Mumbai police as he moves through the turbulent, colourful fabric of modern Indian society in search of a murderer, whilst simultaneously coming to grips with the surreal dilemma of caring for a one-year-old baby elephant that has been sent into his care. “Endearing and gripping” ~ The Sunday Times; “Colour and atmosphere flows out of every page” ~ The Daily Express; “Utterly charming” ~ The Guardian

Ive been writing all summer - busy working on the third in the series - but managing to read a lot too. I love books about animals - my favourite is Watership Down, and has been since I was a kid!

Not much that I know of Jean. I even put some super cute pics of baby elephants on my website if u want to look: https://vaseemkhan.com/gallery/elepha...

if u ever read my books do let me know what u think. I wanted to take readers on a journey to modern India so its nice to get feedback about whether or not I achieved that!
