Jade Diamond (jadediamond) Duration: January 1st 2017 - December 31st 2017

Diverse books include books about or written by (but not limited to) LGBTQIA, people of colour, gender diversity, people with disabilities, and ethnic, cultural, and religious minorities.

Rules
- Read books that are diverse.
- The Main Character must be part of a diverse group
- If the book is a fantasy it can be based on/inspired by a diverse mythology or folklore
- You can join in anytime you want.
- When finished reading a book, you can cross it out or simply put the date you finished reading the book next to the title.
- You may use the books you read for other challenges.
- Re-reads are allowed.
- You can read in any order you like.
- Any genres are acceptable, but since we are a young adult group, please try to include as many young adult books as you can
- There 12 Categories.

3. A book with an LGBTQIA main Character.
4. A book written by an author of colour.
5. A book with a person of colour on the cover.
6. A book in which the main character or Secondary Character has a Disability.

8. A Contemporary book with a person of colour on the cover.
9. A Graphic novel featuring protagonists of colour.
10. A Romance novel with main character of colour.
11. A Science fiction or fantasy with female main character of colour.
12. A Memoir or biography by or about a diverse author.

Jade Diamond (jadediamond) How To Participate:

1. Join the challenge by leaving a comment below. Post here telling the challenge leader that you'd like to join the challenge. You can choose your books for the challenge at the beginning, or add them as you go. You can join a challenge at any time, as long as the challenge is still active.

2. As you read books that qualify for items on the list, check it off. Whenever you finish a book for the challenge, post here and let the challenge leader know so they can update your progress.

Some members choose to update their original post with their progress to keep track of their challenge more easily, but make sure to also post a new message so the challenge leader knows to go look at your original post.

Ashley Sigmon Do memoirs count, or are we only talking fiction unless specifically stated? For example, Instrumental is a memoir written by a person with Aspergers, PTSD and OCD; however it is the author writing about his life and is not a work of fiction.

Memoirs are allowed. The Challenges are all pretty flexible. If you'd like to read memoirs, you can.
