Buddy Read

October Buddy Read Discussion
Duration: 01 October 2016 - 31 October 2016

Instructions & Info:

Rules:

Use this thread to find your buddy and determine your book! You can always start by posting books, authors or genres you are interested in. When you decide who your buddy will be and what book(s) you're going to read head on over to the FINAL SIGN UP thread (see link at bottom) and tell me your book and buddy there (there will be instructions to follow).

1. If you want to participate post your name and let people know what genre(s) you are interested in reading and/or any books that you're interested in reading.

2. If you already know who you’d like to read with, go to the Final Sign Up thread and post your information for me!

3. Groups of 3 or more are also fine, the more the merrier.

4.I will create Buddy Discussion Threads for each Buddy group and you will be able to start reading and discussing.

5. There are no rules on what, how much or how often to discuss or how best to pace your reading - whatever works best for each individual group.

5.The challenge will span a month.

6.You CAN sign up for more than one Buddy Read...in fact it's encouraged!

ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK!

Once you have a buddy, go to the October Sign Up Thread and post your book and your buddy.

Going to be reading this in October actually because I was supposed to read it in September but both me and my buddy had stuff come up so we didn't get a chance to finish it, so Runell and I are giving it another go in October if anyone else wants to join!

I read this a couple weeks ago and wish I had had a BR going to discuss it, though my contributions would have been more ranting than praising. It frustrated me sooo much. If you get a BR going for it in October, I'll definitely be peeking in to see what others think!

I'd love to read this with you, Erin. It'd actually be a reread for me, but it's been so many years since I read this. I first read it when I was in the seventh or eighth grade and I'm 21 now so I know I've forgotten more than I remember.

Oh boy . . . My mother really enjoyed it so I can only hope that I at least like it and don't get frustrated by it too much if at all. I really just want to read the book so I can go see the movie with my boyfriend.

Erin | 327 comments Runell wrote: "Oh boy . . . My mother really enjoyed it so I can only hope that I at least like it and don't get frustrated by it too much if at all. "

I honestly don't think I would have finished the book if my mother-in-law hadn't seen and liked the movie and told me to stick with it (though I have no idea how much the movie reflects the book). I wanted to scream so many times. Then, at the end, I felt like the book had a "Gotcha!" moment -- which prompted me to give it 3 stars instead of 2.

Yay! I kinda started it since I had finished everything else I was reading and it didn't look like anyone was interested. But I haven't gotten too far. I am liking this one so far.

My parents are flying in to visit from the 11th-18th and I was planning to finish it before they arrive. I won't be doing any reading while they're here since I haven't seen them in 6 months and we'll be celebrating my son's birthday.

If you like, I can post spoilers as I go along that you can read after you've gotten to each point and I should be able to hop on Goodreads now and then while they're here to respond to your comments. Let me know if that would work for you and I will sign us up.
