As soon as we hit ten members I would like to have a group read. This isn't mandatory but I would like a few people to participate.
Here you can also talk about the group read. I can't wait to see all everyone's opinions!

R.E. Banks | 97 comments I suggest a Harry Potter book to see how Rowling structured it. A great post on story structure and plot points is on C.S. Plocher's website, Write Like Rowling. I know it's not a book but I just thought I would mention it because it became an amazing lesson on story for me! Almost like a story blueprint.

imts (heirofinkandpaper) hmmm... will this be a monthly group read? If so, we'll be reading our next book in October, yeah? If that's the case, I suggest anything related to Halloween XD (I don't have any books on that, but I can certainly search for them :D)

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we should have an October read where some YA might have a fallish feeling or a few mysteries as well. What do you guys think?

message 5: by imts (new)

imts (heirofinkandpaper) well, i certainly agree :D
anyone have any idea for books, though?

Fellowship of the Ring sounds good. Does anyone else have some suggestions. We're nearly starting Oct. so I'd really appreciate some ideas.

message 8: by imts (new)

imts (heirofinkandpaper) I suggest The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern...

Alrighty then folks. Looks like we shall be reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for this month! I hope you all will be enjoying reading this as much as I will. :D

Huh. I nearly forgot about this thread. I can get so forgetful. ; ) Well anyway, please post your books below (the ones you'd very much like to have the whole group read) and they may just have a chance to win the voting poll. ^.^ If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hmmm. Well maybe 14+ and just so long the stuff is clean just in case we some younger readers in this group. ^.^ Oh! And also since it is February, I was also thinking if the books could have a bit of clean romance in them. Thank you!

I'm gonna try to get the book from the library. I'm sorry if I don't finish it in time because sometimes it takes a while to get.

Haha! I went to the library today and they didn't have it. >.< This will be my second time reading it. I'm crossing my fingers that it would be a better read.

Yeah so I put a hold on the e-book form but I'm in line for it and I'm in position 9/9 so it may be a while before I can actually read it. :/

I'm encouraging my sister to read The Selection now. I need to reread these so I can get back into the groove for The Crown (still haven't read it yet!)

Just letting everyone have a heads up that the requirements for March's group read are this:

~ The color of the book has to be green! Otherwise a little pinch for you. ; )

Aaaand

~ Make sure the book is clean for young readers.

I am not thinking of a single book I love that has a green cover.

Albrek's Tomb is the third book to the Adventurers Wanted series! ^.^

It may be green but it's a third book and so not a great for the group though. c:

True, but the way the author writes the story is incredibly easy to follow. When I first read this series, I actually started out with this one so it was the first to come to mind and I loved how you could easily follow along. It was a bummer that book one and two were already checked out. -_-

Emerald Green is excellent! But it's the last book in the trilogy! I would NOT suggest starting with it. :-)

Travel Glasses is the first book in a trilogy, I think.

Yeah, it's totally the end. :) I waited forever for the translators to finish. Great reads though! I completely suggest you pick them up.

Travel glasses looks pretty mature, it's labeled YA and a lot of Goodreads members are middle school or even elementary school students.

message 27: by Coralie, Wordy Writer (new)

Coralie (corkybookworm) | 1249 comments Mod
I don't think it looks too mature. In fact, I think it looks a little on the low side of YA, personally.

I still have like 8 people in front of me to get The Selection from my library :/ I probably won't get it in time...

These books are not the first books in their series, but many people are familiar with them.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Insurgent

Yes, congrats! Yeah, I know what you mean. It just wasn't as engaging as some of the other options I had available. XD Not that I didn't like the first one; it just wasn't stellar, you know?

message 33: by Wayward Skyril (new)

Wayward Skyril | 425 comments I suggest Matched by Ally Condle or Splintered by A. G. Howard.

I can't really be buying books right now, but those two I own and have with me and are pretty green, so awesome xD

Nope! On the to-read list!

VGA (themonarchofmusic) | 114 comments Well, I suggest Fablehaven. Neverseen has a green cover, but it's the 4th book >.< Then again, a lot of people here have read the KOTLC series, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
