What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I remember reading an encyclopedia series for young people, it must have been written in the twenties or thirties–it had stories about the 'Great War' but nothing on World War Two. It was probably Canadian, because of stories on Canadian history, but it also had entries on British and American history, and ancient Rome. There were also entries on crafts and stuff, specifically for boys. And I think it occasionally referred to Canada's indigenous peoples as Indians and savages and whatnot. A very outdated perspective.
