What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hi!

I read at least one fantasy book (do not remember if there were two or even a trilogy) sometime around 1995-1998, but doubt that the books were just published at that time.

The few things I remember:

Genre: Fantasy

There was a hero in the making with a wizard companion that commented happenings of our world or other worlds a few times, e.g., commented something about the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. It could have been also that the story revolved around a sword, but don't remember exactly.

I tried Wizard's first rule - not it, but got hooked, so I am reading the series now :)

I also tried the The Darksword Trilogy: Forging the Darksword, Doom of the Darksword and Triumph of the Darksword, and was close, but it wasn't either. I even ended up reading in my native spanish "just in case" it was translation issues.

Wizard in Chaos, Spellsinger, or Sword in the Stone are not it unfortunately.
