We read the first book in the beginning of this year, so I've included the second book.

Also An Ember in the Ashes, another one I haven't read that has YA/adult crossover that I've heard strong things about:

And finally I'd suggest Sabriel by Garth Nix, because it's a classic (I've probably read it 50 times) and the newest Abhorsen book is coming out tomorrow.


Sabriel is fantastic! I wouldn't mind reading it again.
