Kindle Lendable Shelves

I have mostly Romance, but other genres are scattered in there.

Would somebody explain it to me please.

If you want to see the lending status of any kindle book: First, go to the amazon page of a kindle book. For example, Eat, Pray, Love.
Scroll down until you see the "Product Details".
Near the bottom of that list you will see "Lending" in bold. In the case of this book, it is "not enabled", so not lendable.
If you already own the book, another way to check is by going to your "Manage Content and Devices" page and you will see a list of your kindle books. Click the actions button (now on the left, it looks like this: ... ) next to the book you want to check. If it is lendable you will see at the bottom of the pop-up a button that says "Loan this Title".
Once you have figured out which books are lendable, put them on a GR shelf and post the link to your shelf here. Then we'll add you to the master list.
Let me know if that still doesn't make sense and I'll walk you through it step-by-step.
Happy reading! :)

Unfortunately I have just been through some of my books and none has had the "loan this title"
The last on the list is "read now". I wonder if it is because I am outside the States. I don't know.

Feel free to browse the shelves and request books. There are only two shelves posted at the moment but we'll have more soon :).

Great, Nicole!
Great, Nicole!

True. On all counts.
True. On all counts.

Hi SharieCrimson,
Because your profile is set to private, I won't be able to add your lendable shelf to the master list (since I'm not even able to see the link). You can either:
*Set your profile to public, in which case everyone can look through your lendable shelf.
*Or you can friend this Mod account so that I can add your shelf to the list...but only your GR friends will be able to browse your lendable shelf.

Are you familiar with this website? This is this idea on a larger scale, and it has always been really easy and worked really well!

Yes, I do know about that site, Rebekah, although I've only used it once or twice. Thanks for the reminder!

Also, is there an easy way to find out if books from Amazon are lendable without going to the Manage Your Kindle tool?

The only other way (that I know of) to check if a book is lendable is by going to the Kindle book's Amazon page. If you own it and it is lendable, there will be a highlighted message at the top of the page saying something like this: "Instant order update for---.
You purchased this item on ---. View this order. Loan this book to anyone you choose."
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions :).
Remember to remove the book from your shelf once it has been borrowed.
Post a link to your Kindle “lendable” shelf in the comments and it will be added to the master list.
