message 258: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5085 comments Hi Kaileigh! I read Thrill of It All this week - I was confused as to whether this was the first or second of the Caruso Family series and ended up reading An Offer He Can't Refuse first... then realized Thrill did come first! Oh well! I enjoyed them both and so am considering it a two-for-one pick! Thanks so much!

Something Old:
★NEW: The Thrill of It All – Christie Ridgway (one of my favourite books) - Read 06.04 ★★★★

MountainKat | 31602 comments Hi Breann! I finished two of my picks this morning. I read Fall from India Place and I loved it! And I listened to Kiss of a Demon King and really liked it too! Both series are favorites and I loved that they got picked so I had an excuse to read them!! Now I'm just over half done listening a third pick - The Lady Most Willing...: A Novel in Three Parts. This is an easy book to listen to with lovely narration - I've had the earbuds in for about 5 hours today! (Oops, about 6 1/2 hours - I still had a little bit to listen to in Demon King too!)

message 262: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11349 comments Hi Grace!

I finished my first pick this morning, Kiss of a Demon King. I enjoyed it, especially the narration, but maybe not quite as much as the previous books in the series. Still a winner, though, and I'll definitely be continuing with the series. Thanks for the great picks, I'm planning on reading at least 2 more this month!

message 263: by AerinLuvs (new)

AerinLuvs (anniluvs) | 117 comments Hi beppy, I finished one of the new books you recommended, Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, #1) by Lisa Kleypas , and liked it a lot! Now I have/will be checking out more of her books! Thanks for the great recommendations.

message 264: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31602 comments Hi Breann, I finished The Lady Most Willing...: A Novel in Three Parts last evening - it was a great book to listen to as I worked around the house the last couple of days!

Today I started Saturday Night Special and Loyalty in Death! After that, I think there are one or two more I will get this month. I would love to get a couple more in, it will depend on how quick I finish books for some other challenges though.

message 265: by Kaity (new)

Kaity | 492 comments Hiya Tia! I finished my first pick today, Rule (Marked Men, #1) by Jay Crownover . Thank you so much for picking it for me! I enjoyed it and definitely plan to continue on with the series (so many very yummy guys were introduced in this book!).

message 266: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1512 comments Skandia - thanks for recommending Under Wraps (Underworld Detection Agency, #1) by Hannah Jayne . It had been on my TBR a long time and was a good read. Now I'll have to pick up the rest of the books in the series.

message 267: by LaurLa (last edited Jun 15, 2014 11:40AM) (new)

I also really enjoyed Definitely, Maybe in Love by Ophelia London and will probably look for other books by her. Thanks so much for the awesome picks this month!!

Cmkage | 18 comments Arielle Rae, I finished On the Edge and absolutely loved it. No idea why it took me so long to start it, it's been on my tbr pile forever. I'm glad you picked it for me.

message 269: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31602 comments Hi Breann, two more read and another one started! I finished Loyalty in Death, wonderful and expected - I love listening to this series! I also finish Saturday Night Special, not my favorite in this series, but I love this family. It was more lighthearted fun than I was expecting and not as much family, so different but still good! This morning I started Lion and the Falcon - I'm sure this one will be fun too!

Glad you liked it! I'm planning of doing a reread of that series myself soon...
Enjoy the following books! They are just as good :)

message 271: by Arielle Rae (new)

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 85 comments Hi Shelby!

I finished Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione and I loved it, especially the yummy hero :D
The only thing that bugged me was the heroine. I found her annoying and it kind of marred my enjoyment a bit.
Otherwise, thanks for the recommendation! Going to continue the series

Next up, A Wrinkle in Time (Time, #1) by Madeleine L'Engle

message 272: by Kaity (new)

Kaity | 492 comments Tia, I finished my second pick today Wallbanger (Cocktail, #1) by Alice Clayton . It really surprised me! I was worried about the humor. I'm one of those people that can't do 'embarrassment humor' since I end up embarrassed for the character instead of finding the situation humorous like intended, and that's mostly what I expected from this book. I was pleasantly surprised with Clayton's writing/style though. I found the whole book to be quiet funny. My only complaint was just a personal one, I'm not crazy about chick-lit and the first half seemed more chick-lit than romance. I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel! Thanks so much for picking this for me.

almost forgot to update...

finished my first pick - Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #2) by Laini Taylor - loved it! but I had to grow to love it - it was just so completely different from the first book, which was magical and lightness, whereas the follow-up was despair, angst and darkness. I love the characters and love the writing. Thanks for the pick, Ella!

Nancy H | 1111 comments Penney,
I just finished Vengeance in Death (In Death, #6) by J.D. Robb , and it was just as good as the others that I have read in that series. I have also started Memoirs of a Geisha, and it is also quite good. I am not sure I will get it finished by the end of the month, though. In addition, I have four other of your picks for me that are now on the top of my TBR stack, and I want to get to them soon, even though it will not be in time for this month.
Thanks again for such great picks!

AerinLuvs (anniluvs) | 117 comments Good to hear Carla-Colette! I first discovered Julie Anne Long author at our public library, all of her books are at my library. Saw your comment/review about the book...her books vary as far as steaminess. I definitely recall that one of her first books To Love a Thief ,(not in a series, it is a Pygmalian-plot) is definitely more PG-rated.

Thanks, I'll have to check that title out. I don't object to some steam, but if there's too much it often seems to detract from the story.
