If I understand the manual correctly the authors of plays based on/created from other works should be listed as the main author and not the author of the original work. I came across these two plays and wanted to check before I made any changes:

This pantomime "Aladdin"

which should have Norman Robbins as the main author?

and this play adapted from "The Hound of the Baskervilles"
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
which should have Tim Kelly as the main author?

If that's correct, should these be separated from the original works?

Yes, they should be separated and primary author changed. This is from the manual:
Also note that adaptations should not be combined with their parent work. The adaptor’s name should be listed as the primary author.
