Fantasy and Vampire Book Club discussion

So many Vampire and some Paranormal books have the 4 words in the grid below.

Pick books with the title or series name having those words or derivatives of those words. This means that Dark can be Darker, Bite can be Bitten, Night can be Midnight, Blood can be Blud, so on...

Series name can only be used only one time.

The challenge is to complete one horizontal, diagonal, or vertical column or row. If you want a bigger challenge, complete more than one row/column but make sure they are different rows. Only the first row has all the 4 words. For the crazies out there, try the whole 4X4 grid.

Dead can be used as a substitute word in case you are having problems with one word, or like the word Dead better.

Levels will be how many times you complete the challenge, 10 possibilities.

I think I'll be able to get these words in 3 times, so level 3 for me.

How long does this go for?

Nevermind got my answer. Can shadow be used for dark?

I thought of Shadow as a substitute word also as it comes in titles a lot, but it does have the similar connotation as Dark so I think it should be fine if you want to use it.

It is another 3 month challenge, this time summer, though I decided to open the counter immediately so you can start counting books towards it now.

i think i might start off with one row and expand from there.

the next few weeks i'm a bit busy so i'm going to attempt one Row( the top row) for now,but with the way i have been reading lately i may end up doing the whole thing!

I'd like to join!! I'll go for 40 books. Since I will be jet lagging for the next 5 days, I won't have anything better to do than read.

I agree with Adele. I'll start with one row right now.

I will need to think on this. LOL! I have been sick as a dog for a week. I must look at my books and determine what is an option

I put 40 on the widget....just in case I decide to actually get it all done.

Where would I find the counter I do not see a link here. I'll also start with row 1. This challenge should be hard for me since I do not have many books with those titles.

I like it. I will try to do as many as possible but when is the end date?

I changed to 16 thinking I'll get the board done once but maybe I'll mix it up and do rows and columns. I seem to be able to find lots of Dark and Night.

@Nicole - great job, first to finish once. It is a 3 month challenge but like you, I'm seeing a lot of first in the series and don't want to start too many new series. I'll keep looking.

I've just started the challenge. I got side tracked with Jennifer Asheley's Shifters Unbound series. I've put it down for the time being, though I only have a book and novella left.

So my first row will be the top row and the plan is
Dead Until Dark
One Bite With A Stranger
Days of Blood & Starlight and
Midnight Falls

Already started the first two.

I've finished the second row. I'm going to stop at level 2 for now. I have a few other books I would like to read before I finish anymore rows. I'll have to get more books with those titles.

Great read.

Back from vacation so thought I would update. I'm almost done with my 2nd row, need 1 more book. Ended up reading a bunch of novellas on my trip which fit in with the words. Substituted Dead for Dark in second row. Will post books above later.
