Kaleesha Williams | 9 comments Greetings, all!

Been a while since I’ve been on here. Life, etc. But I’m finally taking some time out to promote this novel my friend Tim and I wrote last year. I met Tim here on Goodreads when we happened to exchange books to read and review; within a few months “9 Lovers For Emily Spankhammer” was conceived. Its primary purpose was to give me a crash course in fiction writing, from which I had shied for many years. Its secondary purpose, as we pinged chapters back and forth across the Atlantic, was to make each other laugh. We succeeded. We’ve made some others laugh along the way:

“An off-the-wall flirty, satirical romp of a book that will make you laugh. It's weird and quirky but it works!”

“Biting but affectionate satire of the excesses of romance eBooks. It's got magic, love and the best joke you'll ever hear about sex with zebras. An effortless and funny read.”

“Great, imaginative writing, fab characters, excellent story arc and gag after gag after gag.”

“Turning the romantic novel on its head and then doing unspeakable things to it in the name of bad taste and surrealism.”

“Not very good!” (There’s always that one!)

About the book:

new spank for Kindle

Spectacular southern belle Emily Spankhammer is driven by love and the dubious advice of Sparkle, her mostly invisible pink unicorn spirit guide, into a quest for romance. But with Sparkle more interested in his own deranged bucket list, and men as reliable as a 1971 1.6L Ford Pinto Runabout hatchback, what could possibly go wrong? Circus performers, billionaires, detectives, and a menagerie of wild animals; Emily and Sparkle work their way through the available talent like two raccoons through a picnic hamper.

Doing for romance what Spinal Tap did for progressive rock, “9 Lovers for Emily Spankhammer” has rewritten the romance novel one cliché at a time and left it noticeably unhinged.
