I've been working on this series for a long time, and it wasn't until this semester that I got the motivation to finish it. This is the third book in The Heroes of Olympus series. The first two books are told from the points of view of different demigods at the Roman and Greek camps. Jason was brought to the Greek camp and Percy was shipped off to the Roman camp with their memories erased. They get to know the different cultures in order to be able to save the world .
This book picks up with Annabeth (Percy's girlfriend) Jason, Piper and Leo starting out on their journey to the Roman camp. They arrive at the camp and find that it has been attacked recently, after leaving their weapons on their boat they are welcomed to a feast and during the feast they come to some disagreements and then the camp is fired upon by the ship that the Greek campers came on. They start to fight and eventually they all escape with Percy, Hazel and Frank. They then journey to several different places trying to figure out how to defeat Gaia and her evil purposes. The group is separated and must then embark on their separate journeys.
I love Greek Mythology, and these books take all of the old myths and give them a modern twist that is both entertaining and informational. Rick Riordan has a way of making plot exposition very entertaining. I Love his description and his writing offers a lot to both male and female readers. There is action, adventure and romance. Despite this book being over five hundred pages it flies by and is a very fast read. I love how he took both the Roman and Greek cultures and combined them in this Percy Jackson spin off series.
I highly recommend this book and the others in its series for anyone and everyone who enjoys mythology.
