After a long walk, River and her mom finally made it to Kyuusho house and eventually found Bolt's dorm. She knocked then listened carefully. If he wasn't inside, she didn't know where to look since they'd already been in the common room.
"Who is it?" Bolt called from inside. He was sitting in a beanbag chair, watching something on his phone as he sipped soda from a cup he'd gotten at the soda shop. He didn't know who was visiting him, but maybe he'd just gotten a brand new roommate.
"ME!" River called. "And mom," she said, looking at her mom with a cheesy smile. It was the face she used when she felt guilty about doing what she wanted. And since she was leaving her mom to her own devices to do what she wanted.... you get the picture.
"Oh," Bolt said and put his stuff down to go to the door. He gave them an easy but not quite normal smile. "Hey, I'm guessing Dad is gone, so what do you need?"
Bolt looked up to his mother, who sighed and nodded in confirmation. "Oh, okay cool," he said and smiled at River. "What is it you want to do though?"
River looked between them. "I wanted to hang out with you but I can go back to the cabin, I guess."
"No, go right ahead," L said and shrugged. "I don't care if you go with him. I'll just have to harass my poor sister-in-law or something."
"Neither of you seems too happy about me spending time with my brother. A lot of sighing is never good," She said, crossing her arms.
"Fine, but I'll leave if it seems like you don't want to anymore," River told him. "Guess what we did this morning?"
"Uh....I thought you guys were house shopping, weren't you?" Bolt asked, unsure now that he'd said something.
"Oh good! Even though we're not all living at home anymore, it's still good to have something other than the dorms," he said.
"That's true," Bolt said and looked away. Just then he realized that he and Blaze would probably end up sharing a room again, or at least be right next to each other...
"I could have five rooms to myself right now, you know," River said. "I guess I don't mind not going to school that much." It felt weird coming out of her mouth and she realized it wasn't really true.
He looked at her, not believing that for a second, but he figured she was trying to cope with it, so that was good. "Well today we both have fun like students anyway, so come on. Lets find something to do."
L shrugged a shoulder. "I was going to try her room. And if not, she has a cellphone. I'm guessing this is you subtly telling me to leave?"
"I was just asking Bolt because he's he's been here with here for awhile. Though no one seems to do anything together anymore," She said, crossing her arms.
"Oh, I don't know. I haven't seen Leah in a while now," Bolt said. "The last time I saw her was the last time you did."
"But you would know where she hangs out, right?" River said. "Never mind. I guess you can go mom," she said turning to hug L.
"Uh....she likes the library a lot, I guess. She could be there if not in her room then," Bolt suggested.
"Well, I'll check," L said and then hugged River back. "I'll see you later. Don't get into serious trouble and no stalking anyone, alright?"
"Well, I'll check," L said and then hugged River back. "I'll see you later. Don't get into serious trouble and no stalking anyone, alright?"
L nodded. "Good. Be home before dark," she said. "If you need anything, you have your phone, your uncle is in the hospital, and your grandmother is probably in the office. If you're dying...don't."
L smiled a bit. "I'll see you later," she said before walking down the hall to find Whitlea's dorm.
River turned back to Bolt. "Did you have any plans today?" she asked, looking at his well worn bean bag that he had apparently spent a long time in recently.
Bolt shook his head. "Not really. I was binge-watching on my phone, but it was getting old. So we should go out and do something."
"There's restaurants, a candy shop, an ice cream shop, a soda shop, a bakery, a bookstore...lots of stuff like that," Bolt answered.

"I played a long time ago, until we started utterly destroying all the other children. It took on too much notice," Bolt explained. "But I still like it. Sometimes. Not our team." It was a little weird having someone in his room, but he owed her all the snooping time since he'd done the same.

"I know too many of them to actually like watching them play," Bolt answered. "School athletics as a whole I don't have anything against. I just don't necessarily like watching them."
